A reminder to find productive ways to mix a bit of exercise into your art routines! I have this granite slab that I use for tooling. Every time its brought out or put away is a set of 10-15 lifts. At roughly 27.5lbs, it isnt heavy heavy, but its at least something & I do see some results in my arms!

I plan on sharing current WIP shots later today, here's hoping my attention span allows me to concentrate LOL

Felt the need to share this here alongside bsky cuz it is kinda important.

A good chunk of the stainless steel & solid brass hardware I use for my leatherwork are made in Taiwan. Due to the irrational decisions made yesterday, there's now a 32% tariff on goods from the country. A $5 individual hardware piece is immediately now $6.60 before taxes and supplier greed. This isn't much singularly, but when ordering in batches of 50-100+ per metal color and hardware type, that 32% extra adds up Very quickly.

Those of you planning to get something from me at TFF (hoping AA) & FWA (DD) dont have to worry about this. I was lucky enough to do bulk orders before this all happened, but prices are probably going to need adjusting in the near future. It's been years since last time, raising prices feels gross..

And the irony of all this is that last year was the first I finally felt able to start r&d ideas for more affordable catalog options. I completely understand not being able to afford a $250+ collar or $1.1k+ harness. Trying to create cool, durable, budget friendly pieces while needing to keep a roof overhead and food in mouths sucks total ass 🙃

Bracelets will probably be making a comeback in some way. Fingerless driving gloves are potentially going to be available for custom order at FWA. Recent hardware orders are for ringed belt chains. Wallet chains are an idea too. I just need to make sure I can afford making all these alongside gear..

Hope to see some of yall at TFF this weekend! I'll be looking to get into the Artist Alley at least one of the days, asw well as potentially the evenings as well. Inventory will be limited, and I'll be taking a number of custom orders as well!

So I goofed and told people that Id be in the Artist Alley tonight because thought that the AD Rodeo was tonight instead of/as well as last night 😅 woops, its only last night.

Custom orders have filled up, but I'll be back in the AA this evening around 6-8/9pm with what's left of the inventory I brought.

Also check out these ginkgo leaf pendant charms I got from Pirate Artisans in the DD! They make wonderful lost-wax pieces and jewelry out of bronze, silver, and gemstones. I highly recommend checking their cart out in the back center of the Den (they'll also be at FWA next month!)
