Hi Everyone,

This is Mr. O from London. I am a junior software developer at a company called Y. It’s been almost 2 years since I graduated.

Things I loved to do
1. Playing football
2. Hiking
3. Travelling and going out (sometimes)
4. Music

Why this channel? I feel like I have a bit to offer specially when it comes to the non-technical aspects of development. More specifically about resumes, communication skills, networking and bla bla and also a bit of peer pressure (not gonna call names here 🀣). It’s been a while since I wrote about those tbh though πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

Anyways about me, born and raised in Ethiopia (though most ppl don’t believe me πŸ˜‚). Studied SWE in Uni for about 5 yrs. Worked as a product manager and backend for about a year I would say.

This is a place where I write my story times, mistakes I made or advice I got from my boss and boss’s boss, or some unhinged random thoughts and so on.

Thank you for being here y’all. There is a surprise coming soon. And I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Best,
Mr. O

Whenever things are becoming overwhelming or worrisome, I listen to a song that has the following in its lyrics

β€œαˆαˆ‰αˆ አልፎ α‹›αˆ¬ α‰†αˆœ
αŠ«αŠ•α‰° α‹¨α‰°αŠαˆ³ αŠ₯α‹šαˆ… አለሁ
ሡለነገ αŠ₯αŠ•α‹΄α‰΅ αŠ₯ፈራለሁ
αˆ…α‹α‹ˆα‰΄ α‰ αŠ₯αŒ…αˆ… αŠα‹β€

Just looking back to where I was 5 years ago helps me see how far I have come and add on top of it how far I’ll go.

A little backstory I made the ScholarXIV mobile app two years ago just for me, so I can read papers on the go. I made it open-source and it went viral for a bit, even making it on a popular android app's channel. People kept submitting feature requests and…
Thank you for letting me lend you a hand. I had a lot of fun watching the introduction and the product. Ngl shutting my mouth was the most difficult job I have done in a while after seeing the feature and launch video in advance. It is a great product and coming from this community is smtg else tbh. I’m sure ppl will find this beneficial and enjoy it.

Again Thank you Babi on behalf of me and the community πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ.

Code & Coffee
Do you guys believe luck exists? If you ask me, it’s still one of those questions I don’t fully have an answer for. Yesterday at the ALX panel discussion, one of the guests (I forgot his name ) said luck is real. He said when you get something, it’s luck…
Thank you @codeandcoffee1 for the kind words. While we are on topic of CodeLeague. I hope everyone enjoyed the contest and was a fun event. As promised and announced as well during the contest. My friends mostly and I partly will be mentoring the selected team.

I’ll let you know how it is going here as well and if there are important things to be mentioned from the sessions that will benefit everyone.

Anyways congrats for the winning team of the contest and we’ll be contacting the selected team once we have everything in place.
