Letβs talk about the βWhy us?β question.
Itβs kind of like when a girl randomly asks you, βWhy me?β
And you already know the wrong answers:
βBecause youβre beautiful.β
βBecause youβre smart.β
Sure, those things might be true but how many guys do you think say the exact same thing? π
Generic answers donβt make anyone feel chosen.
What actually stands out is attention to detail. Remembering the small things. Showing that you see her, not just the idea of her.
The same logic applies to companies.
A lot of candidates say:
> βBecause your mission and values align with me.β
And honestly? Recruiters hear that all day long.
What makes your answer different is being specific.
Do real research on the company. Look into their programs, culture, values, and initiatives. Then connect those to your own experiences and stories.
For example, in one of my interviews, I knew the company had a strong mentorship program. I also had prior experience both being mentored and mentoring others. So instead of giving a vague answer, I said I was excited about their mentorship culture because I had firsthand experience with it, explained what I learned from it, and how it shaped the way I work today.
Youβre not just saying you align with them, youβre proving it with your story.
So when you answer βWhy us?β, donβt be generic.
> Be intentional.
> Be specific.
> Show that you paid attention.
Because just like in real life, feeling chosen matters.

We'll talk about "why are you leaving your current company?" question later on π.
π4π€2
This question seems straight forward but it is not. This question is not for you to rant about your current company or your current role but more like to praise that company. This is also not a question for you to raise your financial issues as a reason. Here is why whatever negative things your saying about your current role or company or if the issue is financial they'll expect you to treat them the same way and no one wants that. You'll negotiate salary during your hr interviews and can ask them about that but not on this question. Here are some of the good responses I've heard, I've out grown the company and role, I need bigger and complex challenges. The company is good but I know the ins and outs of things. Something like that. And also praise the company you're joining like when I join your company I'll be exposed to complex problems or I'll be working with some of the smartest people on earth and I don't want to miss that chance bla bla. But your praise should be specific not generic.
