Assalom aleykum,

I listened 4 times within 2 years a book called Purification of the Heart ❤️ by Hamza Yusuf and now reading it, so why I’m coming back again and again, my intention is to transform my heart, purify it, clean it from diseases and make sound heart 💖

Along the journey, will keep you updated about progress and share with you insights that you might find interesting 🧐

So get the first fact:

“The physical heart, which houses the spiritual heart, beats about 100,000 times a day, pumping two gallons of blood per minute and over 100 gallons per hour. If one were to attempt to carry 100 gallons of water (whose density is lighter than blood) from one place to another, it would be an exhausting task. Yet the human heart does this every hour of every day for an entire lifetime without respite. The vascular system transporting life-giving blood is over 60,000 miles long – more than two times the circumference of the earth. So when we conceive of our blood being pumped throughout our bodies, know that this means that it travels through 60,000 miles of a closed vascular system that connects all the parts of the body – all the vital organs and living tissues – to this incredible heart.”

Recently, had the privilege of speaking in front of the banks of Uzbekistan in IT park office, sharing the vision of Alif and the power of embracing change. In a world that is rapidly evolving, it's crucial for us in Alif to challenge the traditional remittance systems and explore new possibilities in Uzbekistan as well.

We proposed to shift from traditional remittance systems to mobile remittances, leveraging the technological advancements available in our mobile app alif mobi. By embracing mobile remittances, we can transform the way we send and receive money, making it more convenient, efficient, and secure

Let's join forces, daring to innovate and shape a future where financial systems empower individuals and drive economic growth.

Fintech situation in Uzbekistan:
— Military forces came with masks and arrested several employees of Freedom Pay, Payment organization in Uzbekistan. A subsidiary of Freedom Finance, Kazakstan.
— Oson, a payment organization was plugged off national payment systems, Uzcard/HUMO;
— Click. p2p between HUMO/Uzcard do not work;
— Payme, a payment organization, a subsidiary of TBC Bank, George announce that p2p (more than 60% of transactions) does not work.

We went through our checklist and got prepared 🙏🤲
In Fintech as it might be in other areas, an incident - a small stopped working service, even in the midnight or any downtime of any services, is defined big fire in a big city or megapolis. Imagine that thousands of people can’t proceed their operations, can’t pay for electricity or transfer money to pharmacy to buy needed pills 💊

That’s why, should be set an incident response team armed and ready to go 🚒🧑‍🚒 — before an actual incident needs responding to.

Incident response is sort of like a fire drill for the IT team and the team is as firemen👨‍🚒 When the worst-case scenario becomes reality, it’s essential to have the right plan in place, the right people on the job, and the right tools.

Otherwise the whole city can be dead❤️‍🔥 So don’t kill people, build incident response team and minimise the fire 🔥

If you want to be a great leader, first you have to be a great coach.
- from the book “ trillion dollar coach”

1 million dollar mistake. Lesson learned:
— Always have a backup pillar in any system;
— «If there is an opportunity, make minimum 3 pillars under any system, 1 main and 2 backups» - Z.R.

Most of payments apps including Payme, Click, Uzum, Paynet don’t work due to HUMO main channel is down, alif mobi works due to have a second channel

— Keep calm and move forward by building sustainable system to serve our beloved clients the best way 💚

In today’s situation, it is essential to understand history and politics, if you see the traction, you can understand the purpose of current war.

In the early 20th century, the Zionist movement, led by figures like Theodor Herzl, aimed to establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine, which was then part of the Ottoman Empire. The Balfour Declaration of 1917, issued by the British government during World War I, expressed support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.

After World War I, the League of Nations granted Britain the mandate to govern Palestine, and Jewish immigration to the region increased. This led to tensions between Jewish immigrants and the Arab Palestinian population. In the 1930s and 1940s, this tension escalated into conflict, with both Jewish and Palestinian communities suffering violence and hardship.
2👍1
During World War II, many Jewish refugees sought safety in Palestine, in part because of the Holocaust and the horrors of Nazi Germany. The Jewish Agency, led by David Ben-Gurion, worked to establish the infrastructure for a future state. In 1947, the United Nations proposed a plan to partition Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states, with Jerusalem under international administration. The plan was accepted by Jewish leaders but rejected by Arab leaders.

In 1948, as the British Mandate ended, Israel declared its independence, and neighboring Muslim countries immediately launched a war against it, of course, it is obvious, if someone wants to take your home, you defeat against. This marked the beginning of the Arab-Israeli conflict, which continues to this day. The events surrounding the establishment of Israel have complex historical, political, and social roots, and they continue to be a source of tension and conflict in the Middle East.

The question of why some Palestinians welcomed Jewish immigrants while others opposed them. If you check the history of Ottoman Empire, you can definitely read about different people with different ethics lived in peace, while in Europe Jews were opposed, in Ottoman Empire they have been welcomed including Palestine.

From a political perspective, the situation is even more intricate, as it involves the interests and involvement of various regional and international powers. Understanding Middle Eastern politics and history from 1930 onwards is a vast and complex topic, and this overview only scratches the surface

The Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands has evolved over several phases since the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. Here is overview of some key developments in this ongoing conflict:

1948 Arab-Israeli War (Nakba): The 1948 Arab-Israeli War, also known as the Nakba (catastrophe), resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Arabs. Israel expanded its territory beyond the UN-proposed borders, gaining control of areas originally designated for the Arab state in the 1947 UN partition plan. This included parts of Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip.

1967 Six-Day War: In 1967, Israel fought the Six-Day War against neighboring Arab states, including Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Israel's swift victory in this war allowed it to gain control of the West Bank (including East Jerusalem), Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights, and the Sinai Peninsula. The territories occupied during this war are known as the "Occupied Palestinian Territories."

1978 Camp David Accords: In 1978, Israel signed the Camp David Accords with Egypt, leading to the return of the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. However, the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and other territories remained under Israeli occupation.

1993 Oslo Accords: The Oslo Accords marked a significant development in Israeli-Palestinian relations. They led to the establishment of the Palestinian Authority and a division of the West Bank into Areas A, B, and C. However, full Palestinian statehood and control over these areas were not achieved.

Construction of Settlements: One contentious issue in the ongoing occupation is the construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, which Israel has continued to expand. These settlements are seen as illegal under international law by many countries and organizations.

Separation Barrier: Israel built a separation barrier, consisting of walls and fences, in the West Bank. However, it also further divided Palestinian communities and caused significant controversy.

Gaza Disengagement: In 2005, Israel unilaterally disengaged from the Gaza Strip, removing its settlements and military presence. However, Israel retained control of Gaza's borders, airspace, and maritime access, leading to a different form of what some call «external occupation»

and it continues today..

Today better then yesterday, is one of the Alif's values.

Preparing up for the Samarkand
Half Marathon, and grateful for this opportunity to dav.tj and Alif.
Running,to me, is more than a hobby; it's a journey of self-discovery and perseverance.

The energy and atmosphere of official runs are something truly special. You have to experience it to understand how it can ignite motivation and inspire. I've fallen and stumbled countless times on this path, but the community, the motivation, and the atmosphere keep me going. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of it.

With the dav.tj community and 3 fellow Alifians, we're running together. And I have a modest dream - in 2023, let's aim for more than 10 Alifians participating in the Samarkand Marathon as a team. Let's work together to promote a healthy lifestyle among Alifians and build healthier communities alongside dav.tj. It's a humble goal, but I believe in the power of unity and shared goals

Коллин Баррет, бывший генераль-ный директор Southwest Airlines:
«Мы работаем в бизнесе, завязанном на сервисе; мы предлагаем воздушные перевозки. Наши сотрудники - клиент номер один, пассажиры - клиент номер два, а акционеры - клиент номер три».

Colleen Barrett, the former President of Southwest Airlines, is well-known for her unique approach to leadership and her focus on service, her leadership style is encapsulated in her belief in servant leadership and the Golden Rule: treating people the way you want to be treated. Barrett emphasized treating employees well, believing that happy employees would, in turn, treat customers well, thereby benefiting shareholders. This philosophy was a cornerstone of her tenure at Southwest Airlines, contributing to its success and customer service reputation.

I remember, Abdullo Kurbanov alongside with Zukhursho Rahmatulloev and Firdavs Mirzoev, built the systemic approach starting from ESOP (Employment stock ownership plan) and building a culture that focuses on employees first, then clients and then shareholders

We take care of our colleagues, colleagues will take care of our clients and clients in return take care of Alif and circle continues…

Couple days ago sent to our internal group about how Yandex Go integrated smoothly Korzinka Go and Yandex Go is becoming a super app and actively adding additional services. Will share my thoughts about

Pros and Cons of each side will be next post.

It started with Taxi, added delivery of items, delivery of food from restaurants, corporate segment delivery, etc.

Then it launched Yandex Eats this year and actively competing with Express 24 (one of the first players of food delivery service, will back soon about it) and Uzum tezkor (with big resources)

Now it is becoming a market place, grocery, food delivery, and taxi service.

Short-Term Analysis:

Korzinka GO:

• Increased Order Volume: The integration with Yandex GO can significantly boost Korzinka GO's order volume due to the larger audience on the Yandex platform.
• Brand Recognition: This partnership enhances Korzinka GO's brand visibility, leveraging Yandex GO's established online market presence.
• Rapid Scaling: Access to Yandex GO's extensive user base offers a rapid scaling opportunity for Korzinka GO.

Yandex GO:

• Strategic Partnership: Collaborating with Korzinka GO, a major player in the Uzbek market, provides Yandex GO with a competitive edge over other delivery services, including Express 24 and Uzum Tezkor.
• Increased Revenue Streams: This partnership can generate additional revenue for Yandex GO through expanded service offerings.
• Enhanced User Value: By integrating Korzinka GO, Yandex GO enriches its value proposition to users, potentially increasing user retention and satisfaction.

Long-Term:
Korzinka GO:

• User Habituation to Yandex GO: There's a risk that customers might habitually turn to Yandex GO for grocery and food delivery needs, potentially sidelining Korzinka GO in the long run.
• Competitive Marketplace: As Yandex GO adds more grocery merchants including Baraka market, Havas and Makro, and directl/indirect competitors, direct suppliers of Korzinka , Korzinka GO could face stiff competition, possibly leading to a reduction in its order volume.

Yandex GO:
• Market Domination: In the long term, Yandex GO could emerge as the dominant player in the market, given its expanding ecosystem and the integration of various services.

Personal thoughs
Considering Korzinka infrastructure in the country, more than 100 supermarkets, I think it would be much better to leverage Korzinka's infrastructure, Brand and resources, then going with Yandex, since it is much bigger then Yandex in Uzbekistan.

To my humble opinion:
Short term: both wins;
Long term: Yandex wins

It is a beginning a year, we’ve written down our OKRs for 2024 and Q1, and now it is time to write a Roadmap. Why we’re doing that, pls read below.

Before writing down, I just have competed a course and got Product Roadmapping Micro-Certificate:
🔥11
Here key Insights on Product Roadmapping from an In-depth Course

1. What is a Product Roadmap?
• A strategic tool visualizing a product's lifecycle, laying out its vision and development stages.
• Aims to align business strategy, communicate with stakeholders, and clarify development aspects.
• Typically managed by Product Managers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

2. Importance of Product Roadmaps
• They act as a blueprint for product development, aligning teams, and setting priorities.
• Essential for effective communication with stakeholders and tracking progress.

3. Roadmapping Maturity Levels
• Organizations evolve through five levels: from having no Roadmaps to developing shared and aligned Roadmaps that guide the entire organization and external stakeholders.

4. Crafting Effective Roadmaps
• Focus on setting clear goals, audience-specific tailoring, data-driven decision-making, and maintaining flexibility.
• Regular updates and team involvement are key to keeping Roadmaps relevant and dynamic.

5. Storytelling in Roadmaps
• A compelling narrative around the Roadmap fosters engagement and understanding, connecting emotionally with stakeholders and clarifying the product journey.

🚀 Takeaway:
Product Roadmaps are more than just a list of features; they are a strategic narrative that guides product development and stakeholder engagement. Emphasizing transparency, collaboration, and adaptability is crucial for successful Roadmapping.

While preparing for the presentation about topic of entrepreneurship, questioned myself:

What does entrepreneurship mean to me?

I define entrepreneurship as a feeling of ownership. Entrepreneurs like parents who take care of their child, educate, invest, love and take measured and calculated risks for our education and our marriage, etc. The same feeling of ownership has founders of startups, of course it is very natural but you can feel the same ownership working in any company regardless of the company age, size, or type.

Today’s situation in one of meetings reminded me a lesson from this video and just wanted to share with you, might be interesting:
- how important to learn just get stuff done;
- how important to believe in your product with your heart;
- how important to be determined, persistent and disciplined to achieve things that you believe in.

ex. President Obama: Just learn how to get stuff done

If— by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
    And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
