Lots of pics from Camp Nu though 😊

I never knew vertical scaling is more expensive than horizontal scaling.

#system_design

Your request except for the song is different. Ed Sheeran’s song was a bit slow 😅. Hope you enjoy this 🙌.

Of course but as a starter let me clarify that I said vertical scaling is more expensive than horizontal.

So vertical scaling is basically adding RAM or CPU to an existing server. In order to accomplish that the server in itself must be high end. If the server is average or low end even if you add RAM or CPU the materials of the server will not be compatible with the newly added components.

But when you scale it horizontally, you’re basically adding servers. When you add servers, you can just add average servers and the output can highly optimised by the algorithms you use in your servers plus to load balance the incoming requests as well as the geographical proximity of the servers.

The cost of high end servers is way more expensive than few average servers combined making vertical scaling more expensive than horizontal.

Hope that makes sense.

Guess where my next is going to be 😂.

Meet my friends who work in Amazon, Berlin. We have know each other since 3rd or 4th year of University.

They’re both A2SVian and we all went around the same time with a month apart one from another.

I’m writing this without their consent so for now let’s call them AM and AS 😂.

Mr. AM and I worked on the same project in A2SV and GC project. While Mr. AS was our assistant during my A2SV learning sessions and also an ALX grad.

They’re f**king genius btw and of course I’ll never say this in front of them 😂. Somehow we’re different and it worked well in this trip (character wise).

Tbh their stories are inspirational and may be one day you’ll hear their stories on big stages fr.

Have a blessed and productive week.

May your week go not as you planned but as His will 🙌.

Now I’m back to my normal life pweee breathing 😮‍💨

Pretty much done nothing except attending meetings but exhausted asf 😫

My hate for windows os is increasing day by day man 😭. Ik hate is a strong word but couldn’t find a better wording.

This quote is so true. I love how Exo replied to the SMA question.

Uk the interesting thing about this is, you build your networks with your networks.

Your network doesn’t necessarily have to be thousands of people btw. Sometimes you might do wonder with just two or three people.

Catching up with the channels on Friday 😅.

Istg the more I stay on this job, the more I get confused of things 😫. Everyday I find out new things, unrelated things and burn my brain to understand them for me to have more confusion again 😭. I love it 😁.

One of the best stations I’ve seen for national railway. It has bike parking place 🤩.

Have a productive week and may the excitement you bring to others double and comes back tenfold to you 😁.

Couldn’t agree more 😭😭😭. We need Singapore passport fr. I’ll watch the series though on the next holiday .
