Improved Devices Tab

Beta version of Telegram for iOS got a much improved active sessions section. The page has revamped design and animated icons for all sorts of operating systems.

Also the tab got two new options:
— Allow or deny accepting new Secret Chats requests on active sessions of choice
— Automatically end sessions after a period of inactivity: you can choose it to be either 1 week, or 1, 3, and 6 months.

Disallow Forwarding Messages and Saving Media

Beta version of Telegram for iOS got a new option to disallow message forwarding in channels and groups settings.

The setting also impacts ability to download media on your device, moreover, you can't select and copy text.

On iOS, if you try to make a screenshot, the media won't be visible, while Screen Recording doesn't work at all.

This feature is expected to work:

Text recognition on images

Beta version of Telegram for iOS now has text recognition on images from chats and channels.

To copy text, you need to open the photo in full screen, and then click on the Live Text icon in the lower right corner of the photo.

The feature has been tested on iOS 13 and higher. This feature will most likely appear on the macOS client in future.

Beta version of Telegram for Android got an option to choose your own file manager for sending files, you can also continue using Telegram as a file explorer by giving it corresponding permissions, last option is available only for users of the app version downloaded from the official website.

This change is related to new limitations introduced in Android 12 Scoped Storage, which is intended to protect your security and privacy by limiting app's access to file system by default.

Messages Calendar and Date Range Deletion

Beta version of Telegram for Android got a new messages calendar, which can be opened by tapping date in messaging history.

This calendar shouldn't be confused with the one already available in Attachments tab: the new calendar lets you to jump and preview a date by holding it. Also, you can select multiple days to delete all the messages in the range. Range deletion is available in private chats only.

Beta version of Telegram for Android got an option to restrict saving content of a private channel or group.

Restrictions include:
— Restriction to select and copy text.
— Restriction to forward messages.
— Restriction to download media attachments.

These restrictions are also applied to channel creators (but this might change later).

Change Name for Current Device

Beta version of Telegram Desktop 3.2.6 got an option to rename the current session, which replaces the automatically detected name. When you erase your custom name, the default name gets set back.

Also, by clicking a session, extended information card expands.

These restrictions are also applied to channel owners.
