People have different views as to whether governments should allocate funds towards preserving endangered languages or not. While there are clear benefits to safeguarding minority languages associated with cultural heritage, I believe that prioritizing urgent problems and essential public services is crucial.
Proponents of language preservation programmes cite various reasons for their stance. When countries invest in educational programs and public awareness campaigns in pursuit of language conservation, they can preserve unique traditions and cultural values that are inextricably intertwined with indigenous languages. This, in turn, can foster a sense of pride and unity among communities, promoting social cohesion and intercultural understanding ultimately. Given the threat of cultural erosion due to technological advancements and globalization, protecting small languages takes on added significance.
Despite these arguments in favor of language preservation, in my view, pressing problems and public services should take precedence. The prevalence of environmental issues like air pollution and global warming, coupled with social problems such as homelessness and poverty, has resulted in an increased burden of chronic health conditions. Individuals struggle to maintain a comfortable standard of living, necessitating investments in vital public services like education and healthcare. In a world where people face a combination of environmental and societal challenges, it is unreasonable for countries to prioritize language conservation efforts.
In conclusion, while preserving minority languages can contribute to cultural diversity, I believe that governments should allocate financial resources towards addressing urgent problems and improving essential public services. Only by enhancing schools and hospitals can we ensure better living conditions for citizens.

People have different views as to whether only electric cars should be allowed on public roads by 2040 due to their eco-friendliness. While there are clear benefits to electric vehicles, I believe that individuals should still have the choice to use gasoline-powered vehicles.
Electric cars have been widely recognized for their environmental friendliness, a feature that sets them apart from their traditional gasoline-powered counterparts. Unlike internal combustion engine cars, which emit harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, thus improving air quality and reducing pollution. Given the environmentally-friendly nature of electric vehicles, it seems reasonable for governments to promote their usage as part of efforts to combat climate change and curb air contamination.
Despite these arguments in favor of electric vehicles, in my view, people should not be restricted from using gasoline cars. Limiting individuals’ choices in transportation could not only go against the fundamental ethos of democracy and infringe upon personal freedom, but also induce feelings of injustice and disenfranchisement, giving rise to strong public opposition ultimately. In addition, electric vehicles usually come with much higher costs due to charging infrastructure and research and development expenses, making them less accessible to a wider population.
In conclusion, though electric cars offer environmental advantages, it is essential to maintain a balance and allow individuals the freedom to choose between electric and gasoline-powered vehicles. Only through this approach comes environmental sustainability and individual autonomy in transportation options.

🌚 Lately, I have been writing such short but well-organised essays on different topics as you probably noticed. This is because in my last IELTS exam, I got a thought-provoking topic in Task 2 and struggled to come up with multiple ideas. So I decided to write a short essay under time pressure and ended up writing 264 words for Task 2. Despite producing such a small performance, I still managed to pull off an 8.5 in Writing one more time.
‼️ The moral of the story: writing a short essay does not hold you back from scoring 8.5 or 9.0 as long as you are doing the right thing in the right place at the right time.
