As a part of the ongoing partnership between Bahir Dar University and Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Türkiye, the External relations and Partnership Directorate is pleased to announce the call for KA171 2023, 2024 Erasmus+ Student Mobility.

Please Note:
All applicants must apply through Sivas Cumhuriyet University’s system (the link provided above) and submit in your application form and the necessary documents in hard copies to the External Relations and Partnership Directorate of Bahir Dar University, Wisdom Tower, 5th Floor, Room Number 512 (Right). Those who do not apply within the deadlines will not be considered eligible.

After the applications are completed, preselected candidates will pass through an online interview on 18 - 22 November 2024 on a designated hour for each candidate.

The number of candidates invited to the interview will be three times the specified main quota.

Call for Master Scholarships 2024 - 2026 (updated)

The LEARN Logistics-BDU Project, focused on Logistics Education for Economic Development in Ethiopia, is a collaborative effort between Bahir Dar University (BDU) and the Kühne Foundation.

Since 2021, the partnership has been dedicated to developing a Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) education and research program at Bahir Dar University.

This initiative aims to enhance local capacities in LSCM across different higher education levels by establishing competitive education programs aligned with international standards.

Activities conducted under this partnership include research support, curricula consultancy, train-the-trainer courses, international co-supervision for locally enrolled PhD candidates, international collaboration in conferences, workshops, public lectures, and support courses such as English language and job readiness, among others.

The long-term vision is to facilitate international exchange on LSCM education and research to drive economic development in Ethiopia.

With this call, LEARN Logistics-BDU seeks to recruit 8-10 motivated and capable master candidates who are deeply interested in quality research and are committed to becoming change-makers in the Ethiopian Transport and Logistics sector.

Offered by #LEARN_Logistics-Kühne Foundation and BDU, the Master scholarship is provided as part of an academic research program for a duration of up to 2 academic years.

Key Details:
• Master students under this project will receive scholarship allowances (tuition fees and monthly stipend) as per the Project guidelines.
• These students will be under the supervision of academic staff from Bahir Dar University.
• The project strongly encourages female candidates to apply.
• Applicants are expected to actively work on preparing a master thesis dedicated to developing Logistics and Supply Chain Management education and research programs in Ethiopia.
• Applicants are also required to publish scientific articles related to their research project.

Application Procedures:
The selection of applicants will occur in two rounds.
1. Pre-selection
A committee within the LSCM department will conduct pre-selection, ensuring gender balance. Candidates will be preselected based on the following criteria:

Academic background:
- First degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related fields such as Business Management, Economics, Engineering, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in English/ English Medium of Instruction.
- Development of a concept note (pre-proposal) on the LSCM. This concept note should be maximum of two pages long and propose a research topic contributing to LSCM issues in Ethiopia.

Deadline:
The deadline for submission is Meskerem(September) Thursday 10 October 2024.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by Tuesday 15 October 2024.

2. Final Selection
Preselected candidates will undergo an oral and/or written interview or test by the LSCM committee, scheduled for October 15-16, 2024. The committee will make the final decision on the selected candidates and report to the administration accordingly.

General Profile of Applicants Required:
- Relevant academic and research background in LSCM
Ethiopian citizenship with a maximum 30 age limit
- Highly motivated to undertake academic research in an international context
- Capable of independent project management, demonstrating initiative and meeting deadlines
- Ability to develop a detailed concept note (pre-proposal, 2 pages) and produce a fully researchable and competitive proposal
- Willing to bring creativity, uncover hidden issues, and benefit project, science, and local livelihood
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills to interact with other project partners and stakeholders

3. First year students, already in campus too, will register for 2nd year courses on Tikimt 25 to 26. Since you'll have department placement, you had better stay in the campus.

We, as a Students' Union, advise you not to go to your family after you've finished final exam. Your registration is Tikimt 18 - 19. So, if you can't arrived on date due to the contemporary issues and the registration left you, you will be suspended for this year. And, we could not help you on that.

Note that again: You should not leave the campus, to go to your family. Rehabilitate your capacity in the remaining days, in a campus.
