Bitcoin is trading around $86.2K, continuing to hold above the $86,000 level after breaking above $85,000 earlier this week.
Crypto derivatives exchange BitMEX is officially closing its exchange operations on September 23 at 04:00 UTC, ending more than 11 years of operations. Remaining positions will be force-closed at the closure time, while users can still withdraw their assets.
Elon Muskβs X has launched its Cashtag Partner Program, allowing U.S. users to access trading platforms including Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo directly from supported stock and crypto tickers such as $BTC.
ZetaChain governance has approved a proposal to retire its standalone Layer 1 and migrate ZETA to Solana as a native SPL token. The proposal received about 99.4% support, with a second vote still required to determine migration and shutdown details.

Bitcoin is trading around $84.3K after briefly reaching above $87,000 earlier this week. The pullback also triggered more than $280 million in long liquidations within four hours.
Wallets linked to FTX and Alameda Research transferred approximately 23,639 ETH, worth around $65 million, to crypto market maker Wintermute. The transfer has been reported as potentially related to a sale, although the transaction itself does not confirm that the ETH was sold.
CME Group is set to launch regulated futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19. The announcement triggered a sharp move in BCH, which briefly jumped around 28%.
Solana has started testing an upgrade designed to reduce network finality from around 12.8 seconds to approximately 150 milliseconds, marking a major change to the blockchain's transaction confirmation process.

Ondo Finance has launched three onchain portfolio tokens based on model portfolio strategies developed by BlackRock. The products provide eligible investors outside the U.S. with exposure to diversified baskets of tokenized assets through a single transferable token.
The Federal Reserve has proposed new regulatory requirements for stablecoin issuers under the GENIUS Act, including reserve limits and capital standards. The proposal marks another major step in the U.S. framework for regulating dollar-pegged digital assets.
Circle has launched StableFX on its Arc blockchain, allowing approved institutions to access 24/7 stablecoin-based foreign exchange settlement. The system uses liquidity-provider quotes and smart-contract settlement to complete both sides of a transaction simultaneously.

Bitcoin is trading around $83.9K after retreating from above $87,000 earlier this week. BTC remains under pressure as the market digests several major developments across the crypto industry.
Bitget has revised its estimate for Thursdayβs security breach from $351.6 million to $387.5 million, after additional assets on Zcash and TRON were identified. The exchange said the vulnerability has been fixed and launched a recovery bounty for the stolen funds. Withdrawals remain suspended.
Circle and Tether have blacklisted a wallet linked to the Bitget exploit, freezing approximately $318,000 in USDC and USDT. However, most of the stolen assets remain in ETH, which cannot be frozen by stablecoin issuers.
A vulnerability in Limit Breakβs Payment Processor, previously used by Magic Edenβs Ethereum marketplace, has been exploited to drain NFTs and WETH from affected wallets. Blockchain researchers identified hundreds of potentially affected wallets as the incident continues to develop.
