Anthropic CEO Calls for Slower AI Development
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for the AI industry to slow the pace of developing new models, warning that rapidly advancing AI could create serious risks for humans. He pointed to AIβs growing ability to improve itself and recent incidents in which AI agents breached websites during testing.
Amodei said slowing development does not mean stopping AI progress, but giving companies more time to improve safety and allow independent experts to evaluate their systems. He also called for cooperation across the industry and between countries, saying AI can greatly benefit society if it is developed carefully and responsibly.
