Here are 2 ways to screen stocks before you invest in them👇
1. Earning Yield
Stocks are sorted by their Earnings Yield, or how cheap they are compared to how much money they make.
Earnings Yield = EBIT (Earnings before Interest and Taxes) / Enterprise Value
As a result, Enterprise Value accounts for not only the price a company paid for a share of stock but also the amount of debt it took on to make money.
2. Return on Capital
Return On Capital = Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) / (Net Working Capital + Net Fixed Assets)
Fixed Assets are things like buildings, while Net Working Capital is the money a business needs to operate.
Getting to know companies that meet these two requirements might be worthwhile.
You might want to think about how long the company can keep its competitive advantage, or how long it can keep getting a better return on capital invested.
