Despite being one of the most influential people of the 20th century, Disney endured many failures before creating 'the Happiest Place on Earth.'
Born in Chicago in 1901 and raised in Missouri, Disney was the fourth son among five siblings.
To escape from his stressful circumstances, Young Disney found solace in drawing.
Still, he'd watch his older brothers, one by one, runoff from home to escape their father, and soon he'd follow suit by lying about his age to become an ambulance driver during World War.
Itching to set off on his own, he and his older brother Roy launched their own cartoon business, Laugh-O-Gram Studios, in 1920, but the company went bankrupt a couple of years later.
With the loss of his first business, Disney packed his bags, and with just $40 to his name, took off to Los Angeles to try his hand at acting.
After years of eating beans and driving up his debts, Disney finally brought Mickey Mouse to life on film starting in the late 1920s and earned his way back to the top of his industry.
Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, California. Forged tickets were bringing more visitors than anticipated, adding to a line that trailed seven miles long.
With temperature soaring up to 100 degrees, the new asphalt was melting women's high heels, drinking fountains were defunct.
But as always, Disney's tenacity and perseverance turned his latest endeavor around. Disneyland became a colossal success, clearing out his financial debts, and to this day, operates as an integral part of his business empire.

Carlos Slim was born Jan. 28, 1940, in Mexico City, Mexico.

In 1953, when Carlos was only 13 years old, his father died. After his father’s death, the young man continued to work for his late father's company, which would ultimately be passed on to him.

Carlos Slim was born Jan. 28, 1940, in Mexico City, Mexico.
From a young age, Carlos took an interest in his father’s business. And his father happily obliged with business lessons about management, reading financial statements and keeping accurate financial records.
In 1953, when Carlos was only 13 years old, his father died. After his father’s death, the young man continued to work for his late father's company, which would ultimately be passed on to him.
Slim also took an interest in economics, taking a series of courses on the subject in Chile after he graduated in 1961. He went into finance shortly afterward, working long, grueling days as a stock trader in Mexico City.
Carlos owned over 100 companies and he did so through acquisitions and building a nearly unconquerable market share. His net worth sums around 73.6 billion dollars.

I've been there too. There are moments that I would love to sleep, but I just have to achieve the goal so I don't sleep. There would also be situations where I need to rest to avoid break down.
But, if I give in to my desires too many times in a row, it then poses a problematic situation.
The tip I would like to point out is self-discipline.
This time I'm looking at how other people can be involved.
Accountability is one of the ways to maintain self discipline. Having serious minded people helping you be on track will help tremendously.
Having that mentor that you report to from time to time can keep you in check.
Or that serious colleague can check up on you to make sure you've done your work.
Perhaps having 'juniors' around you that have high self-discipline can challenge you.
Someone once pointed out that people had a problem with 2 things; Thinking and doing things in order of importance.
Rid yourself of this problem today by getting yourself around the right people to get the correct mentality grooming. This way many other things would follow almost automatically; the right thoughts and priority arrangement.
We are all a product of influence, consciously or unconsciously. Choose by yourself what you'd want to influence you.
