TIME VALUE OF MONEY
I came across a fascinating story and I will like to share with you…
I was told that a popular fashion brand Nike apparently sells 2 categories of their brand and they are intentionally sold at different shops.
One of the category of their products are created into perfection with no fault in sight. While another set is created but poorly. These ones are not as good as the first set because in the process of manufacturing them, some developed fault or things are not rightly placed
However, these two sets are still sold. When a worker in Nike was asked why the second set were sold and not re- worked on, he gave a surprising response.
He said “the time spent on repairing the second category can be invested in creating better Nike products that will yield greater income.”
This brings us to the subject of time value of money
Time value of money explains that the worth of money across the ages is dynamic.
You can have the same $1 in your hand in 5 years time , the question is, can it buy the same worth of goods it could buy 5 years earlier.
In my next writeup, I’ll be sharing with you some secrets to ensuring that you maximize the time value of money even in compounding wealth
