Supposedly this is supposed to mean that the middle class got a tax cut. In reality the middle class (and more so the poor, i.e. the bottom 20%) got a massive cash giveaway administered through the tax code. About 50% of taxpayers paid no federal income tax in 2019 anyway.

And the tax on social security only applies to high income social security earners (because of tax credits and standard deduction for poorer seniors), so he actually increased taxes on the rich in this case.

About 60% of Americans will be obese by 2030. This is the primary driver of life expectancy decreases from what would typically be the expected norm (based on real GDP per capita and health spending). Not only do we have an issue with overconsumption out of excess, but we have an issue with how we price food for the poorest Americans. The most affordable options tend to be fast food, while more nutritious foods are out of their price range. This is why I advocate for subsidies/taxes to correct the externality of unhealthiness in the food market.
