In a 6-3 opinion released today in Jones v. Mississippi, Kavanuagh pens in the majority opinion that life sentences for minors are completely up to the discretion of the judge, and sentencers do not have to determine whether the minor is likely to commit another crime in the future.
E.g. “Derek Chauvin, who is white, was convicted of murder.”
Black pill
For people who don’t like Josh Hawley... why?
He voted against every Biden nominee, the Asian hate crime bill, has proposed the most serious plans for big tech, economic populism, and foreign policy. What’s not to like? Besides his support for Israel and Zionism, but it’s also politically beneficial for him
“Immigrants make America great and enrich our culture!”
Meanwhile immigrants can’t get my order of two burritos right at Taco Bell
And the problem is exclusively among immigrants. I’ve never had a problem when native workers take my order

I’ve been waiting quite literally almost 2 years for the new Bond film that they absolutely refuse to release because of covid restrictions. Same with Top Gun 2. Why even live???
Supposedly this is supposed to mean that the middle class got a tax cut. In reality the middle class (and more so the poor, i.e. the bottom 20%) got a massive cash giveaway administered through the tax code. About 50% of taxpayers paid no federal income tax in 2019 anyway.
This is also another smooth brain post I see on liberal boomer Facebook pages occasionally. First of all, he cut the top marginal individual income tax rate from 70% to 28%, the corporate income tax was cut from 46% to 35% (as every country did at the time). And the tax on social security only applies to high income social security earners (because of tax credits and standard deduction for poorer seniors), so he actually increased taxes on the rich in this case.
And since both Rushton and Jensen are dead, and Murray is practically retired, no one of importance is interested in doing this research. Very unfortunate
Oral arguments for Mahanoy Area Schools v. B.L. is live right now. It’s probably the most important educational free speech case since Tinker v. Des Moines in 1969

About 60% of Americans will be obese by 2030. This is the primary driver of life expectancy decreases from what would typically be the expected norm (based on real GDP per capita and health spending). Not only do we have an issue with overconsumption out of excess, but we have an issue with how we price food for the poorest Americans. The most affordable options tend to be fast food, while more nutritious foods are out of their price range. This is why I advocate for subsidies/taxes to correct the externality of unhealthiness in the food market.
I looked at the “study” left wingers cite which supposedly says that Biden’s child tax credit will cut child poverty in half. It’s only 3 pages with a fairly precarious methodology. And the “study” comes from an activist think tank branch of Columbia University. It’s basically citing something from Heritage or Cato, very unreliable

In other words only 8 black students met the proper test score requirement on a highly g loaded exam to get into the most selective high school in the country
I’ve almost collected all of Charles Murray’s books. Just need to buy “Human Accomplishment” and “What it Means to Be a Libertarian”
Also I guess he has a new book coming out in June which is pretty cool
