How do affirmations work?
Let's clear this out:
Affirming with no action is just stupid.
Affirming unrealistic stuff is even more delusional.
If you want your affirmations to work, they need to be directed to specific issues you have.
Let's take an example:
Here is something that works for me every single time.
Whenever I miss out on an opportunity or get offended by someone's words, my reflex in case I'm feeling that I'm losing control is the following:
I will repeat this sentence as many times as I need for it to stick in my subconscious:
I do not care.
I do not care.
I do not care.
If you see that your subconscious is resisting then move on to another phrasing.
It does not affect me.
I'm above this.
I am completely indifferent.
The point being modifying an existing idea in your head.
Affirming that you're the best human being on Earth is lying to yourself.
Make use of affirmation dependent on your specific situation
Do not lie to self.
Use your affirmations to get rid of negative feelings or to motivate yourself.
Don't fall into delusion and misuse them.
Affirmations are the state of mind you want to reach.
Affirmations are NOT false ideas about you.
They need to have a basis in reality.
Understand this.

Sharing this with you, a very interesting read by Manly Lifestyle:

Why staying FRIENDS with your ex is the worst decision you can take
It's obvious that if you keep talking to each other, keep seeing each other, it'll be difficult or in some cases totally impossible for you to move on.
The fact being that each interaction will be a reminder of your past relationship. Each reminder being an occasion to question your decision, or regret what led you to part ways.
On top of that, you will make situations very uncomfortable for everyone, especially if you share the same social circle.
You will subconsciously compare yourself to your ex, in some cases even enter a fake competition where each one of you tries to show the other that they moved on.
Which ultimately leads nowhere.
You'll probably even hook up again but your relationship is already broken.
So instead of moving on you will keep going through the same emotional loop.
An unhealthy one.
What you need after a break up is total change, and learning to enjoy your time on your own again.
Break ups have considerable effects on self-confidence, which can be worked on but ONLY if you allow yourself to move on and set yourself in the conditions to do so.
I'm not telling to hate on your ex, I'm telling you to learn to move on.
Close the doors that can harm you.
Dont let yourself dwell on the past or question yourself.
Learn to simply move on by ejecting people out of your life.

Good intentions alone do not count.
Intentions are only proven when action is taken.
Never trust what you think is someone's intention.
Wait for proof/confirmation of your intuition.
Never gamble on people's intention being genuine.
Because most of the time you'l be wrong.
Very few actually care about you.
And it's okay, just don't get lured.

Me: Bro you gotta get your shit together.
Friend: I'm the way I am.
Me: Die.
I repeat, people do not want to be saved.
Dont try to.

Worth tweeting but Basedonia comes first:
Stand in my way and I'll make your way mine.
Stand in my way and I'll make your way mine.
Ruthless.
Unforgiving.
That's how I am.
Disrespect me once and your existence for me is done.
I dont tolerate the least of misbehaviors.
I'm too focused on my plans that being accepting is too demanding for me.
Cross me once, goodbye forever.

A few things to keep in mind:
-Life is tough, but you're tougher.
-One negative event doesn't mean a bad day.
-Invest in yourself, the only wasted days are the ones you don't learn from.
-Transmute pain into power, learn your lessons and build on top of your failures.
I hope this helps you go through the rest of this week.
It sure as hell does help me.

Don't let your struggles define your identity.
Capitalize on your successes instead.
Dont build your character around toughness of your life.
Build your character around what you excel or just enjoy doing.
Positive/optimistic approach to life will take you places.
Pessimism will only lead you to depression.
Always look at the bright sides.

Yet again, another victim of drugs.
An old friend, with whom I used to be pretty close back in the drug days, has been missing.
Came across the announcement randomly on social media.
Keep your head straight and clear.
At. All. Times.
Dont throw your life away for some fun you've had during your teenage years.

Do you think the Human being is naturally:
I believe us to be naturally malicious.
BUT there is good in all of us.
It's just that it sometimes results in weakness.
Not necessarily because of the Self interest parameter as some of you have mentioned in the comments. I appreciate the point raised here though.
Conflict is in our nature, domination is an essential part of any relationship.
There will always be a dominant and dominate side.
Keep in mind that it doesn't necessarily a toxic relationship. It just means that one side will always impose their will on the other.
Someone who is agreeable will tend to easily surrender not to offend or bother the person in front. While this is a sign of benevolence, that person will often see themselves stepped on and disrespected.
To make it make sense:
We're neither benevolent nor malicious.
It's just that being benevolent will often have less advantages than being malicious.
Just don't harm people on purpose.
Dont let them harm you either.

Self-awareness.
Ego.
