As of now, enrolling into the new Instagram DM experience (i.e. Messenger merger) will not affect Barinsta DM functionality, as long as you do not try to message a Facebook account (which is fixed in code but not yet released).
It has come to our attention that someone posted the alpha release onto Google Play while not respecting GPLv3 conditions. We have taken appropriate actions to respond to this incident. In the future, please stay vigilant of all occurrences of copyright infringements.

F-Droid blocked v19.0.0 due to a dependency issue. We will address it in v19.0.1 hopefully in next week.
The majority of Bibliogram instances (which also uses GraphQL anonymously) has been knocked down due to IP bans. Based on my interpretation of the discussions, it is possible that anonymous users may face extra hardship when accessing Instagram.

For those who download Barinsta from GitHub:
Sentry will be included in all future releases in order to catch errors for us.
It is by default disabled. You can enable it in Settings, and by doing so, you agree to their Privacy Policy. We will not send more data than what is present on current crash dumps.
This has no effect to users who download Barinsta from F-Droid since Sentry is banned from F-Droid builds. You will still have the option to email the crash dump to GitHub Issues.

If you have a rooted phone, are affected by the launching issue and cannot backup normally, please ask me for backup procedure. If you don't have a rooted phone, sadly you cannot backup your settings. (F-Droid users are unaffected.)
Moving on, users are generally recommended to use F-Droid builds and, in the future, Google Play builds.
