Disneyland Resort just announced casting for a lookalike for Hiro Hamada, "Sculpted Character Roles", and for chorus singers/dancers. Looks like the resort will either be bringing back the Big Hero 6 show or will debut an all-new one. They usually put "Sculpted Character" in there when the suit involves a lot of hard plastic, meaning they're probably looking to bring out all the hero suits from the end of the film.

anyone else thinking that a lot of these sensationalist AI conversations are, like all other tech endeavours, being driven and skewed by our fears, biases and pre-conceived notions about how we think AI, society and humanity should function?
not to go off on a rant here, but the "fear of a robot takeover" idea tacitly acknowledges the same thought that fuels racist and sexist backlash among (white) humans to signs of progress — they do not want to be treated how they treated the poor and marginalized for centuries, and fear that losing their iron-clad grip on power means they'll be subjugated to centuries of atrocities as well (which is verifiably not true — the poor and marginalized just want to live comfortably, with dignity and without the constant aggressions they receive now.)
We have a feeling that if robots and AI did achieve full sentience, they'd probably want to do their own thing. Perhaps find a co-habitation solution where actual equality and equity happens, not servitude under humans.
