👍 Trump Warns: The Window for Negotiations With Iran Is Closing

🇺🇸 U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States is holding “very extensive” negotiations with Iran, but warned that time is running out.

🏙 Speaking to Axios on July 27, Trump stated:

“We are negotiating very deeply with Iran. If it doesn’t work out, we will return with very strong military action.”

🟣 When asked how much time Iran would be given, Trump responded bluntly:

“Not much time. Either it happens quickly, or there will be nothing at all.”

🖤 According to Trump, the recent pause in U.S. airstrikes came after mediators requested that diplomacy be given another chance. He claimed that Iran “really wants a deal” and that Tehran only agreed to come to the negotiating table because the U.S. had “hit them hard.”

🇮🇷 Iran has rejected Trump’s claims, stating that there are currently no direct negotiations with the United States, and that messages are only being exchanged through intermediaries.

Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz remain high, while indirect negotiations are reportedly focused on reopening the strategic waterway and addressing Iran’s nuclear program.

🇺🇸 U.S. Senate Releases Consolidated Draft of the CLARITY Act

🏙 Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) has released an updated 616-page draft of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act).

✅ This version consolidates two separate proposals from the Senate Banking Committee and the Senate Agriculture Committee.

📌 Key new provisions:

The draft introduces stricter ethics rules governing federal officials’ involvement in crypto:
🟣 The President, Vice President, members of Congress, federal judges, and their spouses would be prohibited from issuing or sponsoring digital assets for compensation while in office.
🟣 Officials would be required to sell their crypto holdings or place them in a blind trust.
🟣 The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) would be granted civil enforcement authority, including the ability to sue exchanges that list tokens violating these rules.
🟣 These provisions would remain in effect until 12:00 p.m. on January 20, 2029.

👉 The bill aims to clearly define the respective jurisdictions of the SEC and CFTC over digital assets, creating a more transparent regulatory framework for the U.S. crypto market.

According to the current schedule, the Senate is expected to hold a vote during the week beginning August 3, before the August recess — potentially the final major window for passage in 2026.

⚠️ The crypto industry is lobbying heavily in support of the bill, but several Democratic senators continue to argue that the ethics provisions are not strong enough.

🟢 Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has announced the repurchase of 288,930 STRC preferred shares for a total of $25 million, at an average price of $86.52 per share.

🏙 According to Michael Saylor:

🟡 The company will continue to repurchase STRC steadily and systematically whenever its price is below $100.
🟡 Strategy will buy more when STRC trades at a deeper discount and reduce purchases as the price approaches $100.
🟡 The company still has $975 million remaining under its approved preferred stock repurchase program.

📌 In addition, Strategy has increased its U.S. dollar reserve to a record $3.75 billion, enough to cover approximately 25 months, or around 2.1 years, of preferred stock dividend payments. This reserve will not be used to fund STRC repurchases.

🚨 Oil’s downward momentum came to a halt as tensions in the Middle East escalated again this morning.

🇮🇷 Iran launched ballistic missiles targeting U.S. forces in the Middle East. CENTCOM confirmed that the missiles were intercepted.
→ WTI jumped more than 3.5% to around $82 per barrel, while Brent posted a similarly strong increase.

🔴 Strait of Hormuz: Iran rejected a proposal to split control of the strait with Oman. Tehran is demanding one shipping lane under full Iranian control, along with partial control of the remaining lane, and has threatened to keep the strait closed if Oman does not agree.

📈 U.S. stocks remained mixed:
🟡 Most stocks traded higher, supported by strong earnings reports and the previous session’s decline in oil prices. However, semiconductor stocks fell for a fourth consecutive session amid concerns over AI-related costs, high valuations, and growing competition from China.

💰 Bitcoin: After briefly falling to the $62K region last night, Bitcoin rebounded this morning to around $63.8K–$64K.
