Senator Shawnna Bolick recently introduced #SB1436, a bill which helps Arizona become a safer place by allowing victims of voyeurism, stalking, and aggravated assault in domestic violence scenarios to receive lifetime injunctions against their convicted defendant.
The bill passed the Senate and the House - now it awaits a signature on Katie Hobbs' desk.
This is a great bill for victims' rights and I'm glad to see the bipartisan support for it so far. Hopefully it can be signed into law!
What do you think Arizona could be doing to help victims?

Artificial Intelligence has enabled a whole new era of fraud and harassment that is only going to become more complex as technology advances.
My grandmother even got a call from somebody talking in an AI version of my voice. Many people are just now starting to see how devious people are using AI for nefarious purposes.
Senator John Kavanagh has introduced a new bill, #SB1078, which would make it a class 5 felony to use fraudulent audio recordings to harass or commit fraud against somebody.
I show in this video just how easy it is to use an AI version of Kari Lake's or Trump's voice. The technology is only getting better with each passing day.
What do you think Arizona should do to protect your privacy and deal with new problems presented by AI?

NEWLY-APPOINTED LD8 REP. JEVIN HODGE TRIED TO RAPE AT LEAST ONE WOMAN WHILE A STUDENT IN DC - UNIVERSITY RECORDS CORROBORATE.
Jevin Hodge, who was recently appointed to the LD8 State House position vacated by Athena Salman, has a history of being accused of sexual missteps by a variety of women. Now, one of those stories has come to light as bombshell records reveal Hodge tried to repeatedly rape another student while he was in DC.
Who else has Jevin tried to take advantage of?
People like this should be in no position of power.

Good afternoon,
There’s been a lot of news regarding the pre-Roe abortion law and how it’s being handled at the state Legislature, and I'd like you to hear directly from me.
Here are the facts: On April 9th, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld that the pre-Roe law is the controlling law in Arizona. The pre-Roe law – first written in 1864 when Arizona was a territory and last updated in 1977 – bans all abortions in Arizona unless the life of the woman is at risk. I don’t support this law. Like many of you, it addition to being Pro-Life, I support exceptions, including for life of the woman, rape and incest. A repeal of this law would allow Arizona’s 15-week law to go back into effect. That was a pro-life victory in 2022, and it still is in 2024.
Why is this important? You might be aware that pro-abortion advocates are seeking to enshrine an extreme abortion law into the Arizona Constitution. It’s called the Arizona Abortion Access Act. This proposal would allow for abortions for any reason through 24 weeks AND THEN abortions could occur after 24 weeks if a medical professional (the initiative doesn’t specify the type of medical professional) deems it “necessary to protect the life or physical or mental health of the [woman].” I’m deeply concerned about this act, and you should be too.
Last week, our friend Sam Stone was on James T. Harris’s show where he released new polling on what options exist for the Legislature. LISTEN HERE. It’s a 10-minute segment.
KEY TAKEAWAY
If we don’t repeal the territorial law, we almost guarantee passage of the extreme Abortion Access Act.
Stone shared that 54% of Arizona voters SUPPORT the Abortion Access Act. Only 29% of voters said that they somewhat or strongly oppose the abortion measure. That leaves 17% undecided.
The Pro-Life Movement has a lot of work to do. We’ll need to get ALL undecided voters to come to our position to protect life and you’d have to have to cut down the 4% of the 54% support for the measure.
According to Stone, one of the biggest challenges to winning over these voters is the territorial abortion ban. Take, for instance, this polling question:
That means 55% of Arizona voters believe that some abortions should be legal according to some timeframe with another 11% who believe abortion should be allowed up until birth. When the majority of the electorate favors permitting abortion in some context, the pre-Roe law that bans nearly all abortion becomes a liability for efforts to persuade voters to oppose the extreme Abortion Access Act.
SEE ADDITIONAL DETAILS ABOUT THE POLL HERE
That’s why President Trump, Kari Lake, and other leading conservative voices have come out in favor of repealing the territorial law in order to give us a fighting chance to defeat the radical pro-abortion ballot measure in November. I support that effort.
I understand that some of you are disappointed in my position to support a repeal of the near-total abortion ban. As you have the conversations with family, friends, neighbors, clergy, and fellow PC’s, I encourage you to consider what is more broadly at stake this November. We must engage in the heavy work of changing the hearts and minds of Republicans and Independent neighbors. This is about fostering a culture of life and giving real options to women and families…options that respect women and protect new life. That work will take time and keeping this extreme law on the books will not accomplish what the Pro-Life Movement ultimately seeks.
I also know that some of you would like to have public comment on this measure. I assure you that I have received A LOT of public comment (emails, texts, phone calls, etc.) on this measure. We’ve also seen Request To Speak. Please continue to contact me (on this email address or my official address at mgress@AZLEG.GOV).

I encourage you to channel your passion and intensity on this issue in volunteering for and participating in the It Goes Too Far campaign. This is a collaborative effort among the Pro-Life coalition to make the case that the Abortion Access Act IS TOO EXTREME. We cannot effectively make that argument if another EXTREME alternative is current law.
I’m proudly Pro-Life. As a son of a single mom, I know she worked so hard to raise her family. Our state must step up to support women and children. I will reject the extreme voices on this issue, including late-term and taxpayer-funded abortions.
My ultimate goal is to find more ways to save life. And in my view this is the first and maybe the best strategic path forward to accomplish that goal.
With gratitude,

Both Arizonan citizens and asylum claimants are put at risk with current border policies which have been taken advantage of by cartels + other organizations seeking to profit off of illegal immigration.
Sen. Shamp introduced #SB1231, a bill which would have addressed many issues which contribute to the current border crisis by requiring migrants to enter at designated ports of entry + increasing penalties on those who have prior been deported from the country or committed crimes on our soil while being here illegally.
Unfortunately, this bill was vetoed by Hobbs because, in her words, it would be "burdensome for law enforcement personnel and the state judicial system."
It's hard to address the border, one of the top issues facing Arizonans, when legislation that makes it to the 9th floor concerning the topic is almost universally vetoed.
To view the provisions of this bill more in-depth, you can view the official Fact Sheet:

I proudly stand for the unborn and am horrified at the genocidal culture brought upon by pro-abortion activists that has devastated the Black community.
The Democrats don't want to address the horrific results of what their policies have brought to minority communities and the unborn of all colors throughout the nation.

It's extraordinarily easy to learn how to code automation bots in 2024. You can do so within less than a day of learning how to code and it isn't much harder to learn how to circumvent limits and queues on online ticketing website.
Rep. David Cook recently introduced #HB2040, a bill which was signed into law after passing with a veto-proof majority. This bill outlaws bots from automating the bypass of security measures on online ticket websites such as queues and purchase limits.
The bill was passed with a bipartisan supermajority and will help improve Arizonan citizens' access to events while restricting the ability of fraudsters to engage in nefarious activity.

We MUST Hold the House in November.
If we lose the Arizona State House - we could lose the legislature for the first time in 50 years and witness Arizona quickly become California.
LD2, LD9, and LD13 are three swing districts which were won or lost by just 1% in both 2020 and 2022. Ari Bradshaw, Kylie Barber, and Jeff Weninger are three non-incumbent Republicans without primaries running in these districts.
Can you attend our Hold the House Fundraiser on July 30th from 3:30pm-5:30pm? RSVP with the link below.
Suggested contribution is $250 - any amount is valid for RSVP.

Want Arizona elections to be more like Florida's?
Representative Alexander Kolodin is chairing an ad-hoc committee on "Florida Style Elections." Listen to what he has to say about the "four components" which improve both tabulation time and election security while ensuring access for every eligible voter.
1. ID Verification for Early Voting instead of Signature Verification
2. Cut off "Late Earlies" which are vulnerable to issues and massively delay results
3. Address verification every cycle for those who are mail voters (expanding upon legislation from Michelle Ugenti Rita a few sessions back)
4. Ban foreign funding of elections
Senators Warren Petersen and JD Mesnard have both introduced bills (SB1001 and SB1011) which move us closer to a Florida model.
Public comment will be available for all legislation if you would like to publicly support these bills!

The radical wing of Arizona House Democrats wasted no time trying to undermine bipartisan efforts to improve school safety, attempting to derail HB2074 on the very first day of the House Education Committee.
Rep. Matt Gress and Rep. Lisa Fink introduced HB2074, a carefully crafted bill which follows recommendations from a 26-member task force led by Tom Horne. It also includes school safety measures originally sponsored by former Dem Rep. Laura Terech.
Here’s what HB2074 aims to accomplish:
1. Expand the definition of SRO) to include former police officers and SSOs
2. Unlock ~$30 million in unspent school safety funds for upgrades like fences, doors, and locks to protect students.
3. Exempt school blueprints from public records requests
4. And more—read the full bill on Legiscan or the AZLeg website.
