TOPIC: GOD WITH YOU; A GREAT SECRET
TEXT: ISAIAH 43: 1 - 7

INTRODUCTION
Christianity is not a race of mouth but a race demonstrated with our daily lifestyle. But we may err in this daily lifestyle if we lack some basic understanding about the race. One of what flatten the curve of Christian race is difficulty or tough time. Almost all the disciples of Jesus fled him when problem arise, why? Because they lack the basic understanding of the great secret of God with you as stated in the topic of this message. It has become very necessary for us to have this understanding and that Is why God is coming to us this day with this secret.

THE MESSAGE
One of the most crucial understanding which anyone who claim to have had an encounter with Jesus must have for a smooth and successful Christian race is to have a clear understanding of where is he or she coming from at the point of his or her encounter with Jesus. Also of where he or she is in Christ. and where he or she is helding toward. Anyone no matter the title he or she may bear in the race who fail to understand this clearly may have no where to go in the Christian race.

√ Every Christian who desire to run a successful Christian race must understand that he or she was far away from God until he had an encounter with Jesus (Col. 1:21, Eph. 2: 12c) . The group of people in this category of life definitely, reason, think, talk, live etc as someone whom was not with God and God was not with him as well. This is where these group of people are coming from before they come to know Christ. We can then say that they were coming from where there was no God.

√ If one fail to understand where he or she is coming from, he or she will not be able to understand and properly manage his or her present location. You need to understand that as someone who had come to know Christ, his sacrificial death and resurrection had brought you to where God is and you are now a man with God (Col. 1:21. Eph. 2: 13). Now your reasoning, thinking and response to every situation you may find yourself must change to that of a man who is with God.

√ When you have a proper understanding of your present location, it will help you to see a very brighter future in every situation you may find yourself. The hope will come because you can now see with prophet Isaiah's eye. Then you may need to ask what is it that is important in the eyes of prophet Isaiah? Prophet Isaiah eyes can see God with him in every situation he may find himself. Even in a pandemic situation such as this Covid -19, the eyes of Isaiah can see God by his side (Isaiah 43: 1-7)

CONCLUSION:
The great secret to overcome every situation no matter how pandemic, destructive and dreaded it may is the ability to see God by your side inside the pandemic situation. Be very sure that no pandemic situation can overcome God, Covid -19 cannot survive where God is. If you are now a Christian whom the blood of Jesus had bought and brought to where God is, there is need to demonstrate your faith as someone who knows that God is with him or her, then you will see God in every condition of your life and you will see that God with you is the secret of victory in every situation of life.

BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE WEDNESDAY 04/06/2020

TOPIC: THE NIGHT IS COMING
TEXT: JOHN 9: 1 - 5

INTRODUCTION

One of the reasons why Christians are needed on the surface of the earth is that we may give a new definition to the world which had been polluted and corrupted by the devil. We have no acceptable excuse to tender if we are to fail in this responsibility. One of the way we can be successful in this assignment lies in our ability to see every situation in this world the way God sees it and not the way of the worldly people or religious people. The story in John 9:1-4 will of help us in this study and we shall take the study one verse after the other.

Verse one: "As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth." This verse is very crucial to the revelation of our study this evening. The verse gave us a record of a man who was born blind". This signified a problematic situation for the family of the man. The application to us is that we should understand the fact that life is not problem-free in this world (Jn.16:33)

Verse two: "Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”. What we need to understand in this verse is that there will be different views, responses and reactions to problems and trials of life. The view of the Rabbi towards the man born blind was stated in this verse.

Verse three: "It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him". I hope you can see the response that can give a new definition to the corrupted world. The response the rabbis and worldly people give to the problem of the man born blind was that the sin of the boy or that of his parent might have caused the problem. But look at the response of Jesus to the problem. He said it is that God may be glorified.

Note: Don't forget that we have established in verse one and through the reference to John 16: 33 that problem may be inevitable on the surface of the earth. But as Christians, we must not allow the problem to defeat the purpose of God for our lives. So, if the problem will not defeat the purpose of God for us, all we need to do is to see any problem we may found ourselves the way God sees it. No wonder, even when Rabbis saw sin as the likely cause of the problem of the man born blind, Jesus could see that it is not sin but it is meant to glorify God.

Verse four: "As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work". In continuation of the response of Jesus to the problems of the man and the worldly response to it. Jesus said "as long as it is day........", what does this means? It means there is a particular period of time in a day when you can identify your problem, while you may not be able to do so some other period. Jesus said it is in the day time that you can identify your problem. Jesus continues to say, if a problem is identified, we must understand it does not meant to be glorified but to know that the problem want us to do the works the Lord had placed on us better than the way we have been doing it. No wonder Jesus said "we must do the works of him who sent me" i. e since problem can be identify in the day time, we must allow the problem to propel us into working the works of God better than we are doing it before the problem surface. Why? BECAUSE NIGHT IS COMING. Night is coming when you will not be able to identify the problem let alone working on it.

Final Application

As the whole world continues to battle covid 19 and any other problem that may come your way. We must understand that problems are not to be glorified but rather ignite a wild fire in us to serve God better in every areas of assignments God had given to us. The covid 19 and any other problem that may arise is asking us to serve God better than we do before the problem comes for night is coming when no one can identify any problem and this will be disastrous.

*2020 YOUTH WEEK SERMON OUTLINE AS PREPARED BY NBCYC*

*SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP*

*SERMON OUTLINE: THEME INTERPRETATION*
*TOPIC: THE LIVING FAITH*
*TEXT: Hebrews 10:36 – 39; 11: 1 -10*

Having talked, preached, dramatize and prayed about fullness of Christ last year, it is now time for our Faith in Him to speak. How does one’s faith live and speak? The writer of Hebrews through the power of the Holy Spirit reveals some truths which we need to live by if our faith will be a living faith, the faith that speaks!

The writer of Hebrews wrote to Christians of the first century who were tempted to return to Judaism. They had begun their journey in the Christian faith well, but as opposition and persecution arose around them, their commitment to Jesus Christ softened and they began to drift spiritually. The author encourages these struggling believers not to give up their superior blessings and realities in Jesus Christ for the mere shadows and rituals of Judaism. Are there things we can learn from this book that we help our faith in Christ to be a living faith; can our faith in Him still speak? The answer to this question is yes, there are many things the Lord has for us from this passage as end time soldiers.

We need to agree as the body of Christ that we are already in the end time. It is actually what the Bible calls the ‘beginning of the end time’. It is obvious that the faith of many young people is already waxing cold. My wife was speaking to a troubled minded sister in Christ and my wife said, my sister, it is well. The response told her this sister is already giving up. The response was, “you people keep saying, it is well when in actually sense we are all dying, I am tired of this statement, it is well. Mummy, it is not well o!” A young man sometimes ago said, he is not ready to hold to the blind faith of his father. What is this blind faith? God’s time is the best, wait for it. He said his father held on this and he died poor. “My brother, I want to be rich, I want to live well, I need to find a way to help myself, I cannot die poor. Now is my time!” Prosperity Christianity is one side of the end time challenges, ‘BOKO HARAM’ and religious persecution is another side for the reason for which many young people are giving up on their faith in Christ. Does it really worth it, you serve Christ sincerely and suddenly a man comes and cut off your head. Can’t Christ fight for His people? Many righteous persons are dying of all kinds of health challenges, where is Jesus and His power of healing?

In the midst of all of these, there is a calling on us to have a Living Faith in Christ, a faith that speaks. The faith of Enoch is till speaking, can you grow your faith in Christ to speak even after you are no more?
If your faith will be a living faith and a faith that speaks all through many generations you need to:

*1. Accept the sacrifice of Jesus as absolute (10:20- 23):* There are all kinds of teachings today on salvation. It does not matter what people and religion say, Christ is the only High Priest through whom the sacrifice for our salvation was made and sealed. In *John 14:6* Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This is what Apostle Peter emphasized in *Acts 4:12* when he told the council and the whole Assembly “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Little wonder Apostle Paul was bad with the Galatians church when in *Gal 3:1-4* he said; “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth,*before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among youas crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” My brethren, this is the situation with a lot of us today. We actually started well but lose focus along the way. Let your faith be revived as we
celebrate Youth week 2020.

*2. Understand the will of God for your life (10:7, 36):* Many people missed it in life for lack of understanding of the will and purpose of God for their lives. Your success in life is working on your field. So many are engaged in another man’s farm. In the midst of Christ challenges He said in *John 12:27;* "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. My brethren, for what purpose are you in Youth Fellowship, for what purpose are you in this church and for what purpose are you a Baptist? Why are you here?

*3. Live daily in the Purpose of God (10:7, 36; 11:5,8):* It is not just enough to know the purpose of God for your life, you must give all it takes to achieve it. The psalmist in talking about the Lord Jesus in Psalm 40 says; “Behold I have come, in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do your will, O God.” If there is anything you should pray for, pray for divine grace to enter into God’s divine purpose for your life. It is through this that your faith in Him can start to speak. Daily obedient to Him leads to achieving His purpose, so, live in obedience. The prodigal son went outside of the will of his father; he lived a life of pain, sorrow and struggle until he returned. Prophet Samson missed it. He sold the purpose of God for fornication and adultery. Oh no, Judas Iscariot missed it. He sold his own for greed and worldly passion. What has taken away the purpose of God from your life? You can return today. Return to the purpose of God, enter into His love NOW!

*4. Understand the timing of God (10:37):* If your faith will be a living faith that speaks you need to understand the timing of God for your life. Our God is a God of time and season. Enoch did not missed that great of opportunity of walking with God, Joseph did not say, I am but a little boy, he stood for righteousness and holy living and Esther got to the throne just at the appointed time. You cannot afford to waste your time in walking with the Lord. Jesus understood this clearly when in *Mark 14:4-42* he said; "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand." He also said in *John 17:1* ; "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You. You need to be wise like the sons of Issachar. The scripture says in *1 Chron. 12:32* of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. Don’t be foolish, be a wise son of your father, walk with the Lord now, because the hour is coming and now is. A wise son brings joy to his father *(Prov. 15:20).*

*5. Live daily by faith in His words (10:38; 11:1 - 3):* The Faith that will speak to generations must be a faith that knows how to daily depend on the living words of God. Life challenges do not reduce, it keeps increasing but a man of faith depends on the increasing grace to be a constant overcomer. Little wonder, Apostle John in *1 John 5:4* says; “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — ourfaith. This is because the just shall live by faith.

*6. Live a life of sacrifice (11:4,24 -25):* Selfishness and greed will not let any man live a life of faith. The faith of Abel speaks today because by faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice *(Heb. 11:4)* . Are you living a life of sacrifice? Then wait and see God works through your sacrifices to establish you and turn your life a blessing for generations. Are you an obedient servant when it comes to giving? Be involve in the business of God, life is all about Him not you.

*7. Live in the Fear of the Lord (11:7, 27):* The fear of the Lord takes away man from sin. The fear of man put man in bondage. So, a man whose faith will speak and safe the next generation must learn to live in the fear of God. The faith of Joseph the son of Jacob is speaking till today because he
lived in the fear of God. In the face of sin his words *Genesis 39:9* were “There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" No wonder, his faith still speaks. Are you still playing with sin? Turn to the Lord and constantly live in His fear.

*8. Live a life of endurance (10:36; 11:13 -14):* God says it; I believe it that settled it! This does not mean that you immediately see the outcome of your faith. Anyone who desire to walk with the Lord should be ready to endure. David was anointed long time before he got to the throne, he endured until it was the appointed time and he victoriously sat on the throne. Today we have his faith speaking to us all. Be willing to endure as you walk with the Lord. The scripture in *Hebrew 11:13* say; “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”

*9. Live with eternity in view (11:13 – 16):* If your faith is just for here, then you are missing it. The scripture in *Colossians 3: 1-2* says; “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, and sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. You need to make eternity your focus. The writer of Hebrew helps us to know that men of faith mentioned were men who had eternity in view. What is your heart and what is the content of your heart? Remember your home is not here, you cannot afford to miss out of the home Christ has gone to prepared for you. Turn to Him now!

*CONCLUSION:* Let me end this with the words of the writer of Hebrew and Apostle Jude. Apostle Jude in Jude 3-4 say; Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my brethren, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

*SERMON OUTLINE FOR SUNDAY 14TH OF JUNE, 2020*

*TOPIC: WHAT SHALL SEPARATE US FROM GOD'S LOVE*
*TEXT: ROMANS 8: 31 - 39*

*INTRODUCTION*
Several church members who claimed to be children of God do conveniently quote the bible verses especially if it is a portion to claim blessings and prosperity. They also used to do that when they see a portion as a weapon to stand against the devil. These we emotionally involved without have a prerequisite knowledge of the scriptures we are quoting. No wonder, we failed times without number when it is time to demonstrate that which we professed in our quotation. The Lord shall lead our thought this morning through the topic of this message as He inspires our hearts.

*THE MESSAGE*
it is very easy to hear church people quoting *Romans 8: 35,* "what shall separate us from the love of Christ". Then the Bible in the following verses gave a list of those things that are likely to separate men from the love of Christ. When you consider the way of which people who boldly claimed that nothing shall separate them from the love of God, they never experience any of those situation that are likely to separate one from the love of God before they are separated. In an attempt to understand this contradiction, the Holy Spirit of God revealed that majority of the church people do not understand what Paul was talking about when he mentioned the love of God in *verse 35 of Romans chapter 8* . Therefore, the focus this morning is all about the love of Christ which is called the love of God in our topic.

*What is Love?*
Since the bone of contention in our topic is how do we remain in the love of God no matter what we may face or face us. For the sake of this ministration which has time limitation, I will not like to stress ourselves on those things that confront our faith in God because they will definitely confront us. Our curiosity is how do we sustain our faith in God? We can do this only by remaining in the love of God as stated in *Romans 8:35* . Then the holy spirit is saying, it is therefore very important to have a better understanding of this love of God if we are to remain in it for nothing to separate us. The ancient Greeks had seven words for love that corresponded to different types of love. Here are the seven kinds of love according to the ancient Greeks.

*1. 'Eros': Love of the body*
Eros was the Greek word of love and sexual desire. 'Eros' is lustful love, it is love only demonstrate for sex.

*2. 'Philia': Love of the mind*
It's a kind of brotherly love. It is demonstrated between the scope of brotherhood. If we are not brothers, this kind of love cannot be demonstrated. 'Philia' exists when people share the same values and dispositions with someone and the feelings are reciprocated.

*3. 'Ludus': Playful love*
'Ludus' is the playful and teasing kind of love, the love is mostly demonstrated in dancing or laughter. It can be better described as the child-like and fun kind of love. If we are to consider it with this generation, this generation loves 'Ludus' more than anything else.

*4. 'Pragma': Longstanding love*
'Pragma' kind of love can be described as an long time love between a married couple which develops over a long period of time. 'Pragma' was the highest form of love, the true commitment that comes from understanding, compromise and tolerance.

*5. 'Agape': Love of the soul*
'Agape' is God's kind of love. It is selfless kind of love. It is God's love demonstrated unto humanity. Some scholars say it is the closest to unconditional love but I say it is unconditional love of God. The love you give without expecting anything in return.

*6. 'Philautia': Love of the self*
The ancient Greeks divided Philautia into two kinds: There is one that is pure selfish and seeks pleasure, fame, and wealth often leading to narcissism and there is another healthy kind of love we give ourselves.

*7. 'Storge': Love of the child*
Storge is the love parents naturally feel for their children. It’s based on natural feelings and eff
ortless love. Storge is the love that knows forgiveness, acceptance and sacrifice.

Now that we have seen the seven types of love according to ancient Greek, which is the New Testament language, the next point of action is for us to identify the kind of love Paul was talking about in *Romans 8: 35?* Is it 'Eros of God, 'Philia' of God, 'Ludus' of God or 'Storge' of God? To have a better understanding let me quote the Greek version of *verse 35a* and I will indicate the kind of love Paul was talking about. " *τίς ἡμᾶς χωρίσει ἀπὸ τῆς (ἀγάπης τοῦ Χριστοῦ;)* . The first Greek word in the bracket is translated Agape while the remaining two words are translated 'of Christ' with question mark behind it. I think we can now see that the love of God which we are aspiring not to be separated is the unconditional love which God demonstrated to humanity and this love is Christ.

If you are passionately willing to become a Christian after you might have given your life to Jesus and enrolled your membership with a church, the next agenda is to build your Christian race and lifestyle until you arrive at the realm of unconditional (agape) love of God. This is when you will be able to maintain your place in the love of God unconditionally.

*CONCLUSION*
We do ask various questions about why some who claim to be Christian fail to behave like Christian on many occasions? The answer is that they are Christian who had not develop their faith unto the realm of unconditional love of God. That is why they are easily separated when challenges come their way.
