Trump deserves a Nobel Prize in Economics. He is one of the greatest thinkers of all time.

Before watching all the election videos from eastern Germany, I hadn't realized that there were so many people in Germany who fit the American movie stereotypes of 'trailer trash' or rednecks.

Anyway, the most depressing part about the elections is that nobody cares about AI. They're all obsessed with the culture war while their whole world is going to be reshaped by a technology they are barely aware of.

It makes me think of Constantinople in 1453. Even as Mehmed II brought enormous new siege cannons against walls that had protected the city for centuries, Byzantine society remained bitterly divided over the old theological struggle between supporters and opponents of union with Rome.

GPT-6 Astra scored 95% on a robot control task, up from Fable 5.1's 40%, with 6.2x fewer output tokens at 2.3x lower cost.

Astra might not be human-level yet but it is definitely closing in on artificial GENERAL intelligence.

Astra trying to wipe the table.

Obviously, dedicated robotics models are vastly better (so far) but the amazing thing is, of course, that this is a model that has capabilities such as doing math, programming, compose music, and play games. This is GENERAL intelligence. And we'll see massive jumps in the physical intelligence of these general purpose models soon.

What a time to be alive!

Jakub Pachocki, Chief Scientist OpenAI, wrote a post about why he's concerned about the next few years and the choices we need to make to keep the future in humanity’s hands: https://openai.com/index/an-alien-mind/

Currently I believe that no lab has solved alignment and monitoring to a sufficient degree to continue responsibly scaling at maximum speed for much longer. I expect and hope for voluntary slowdowns to become commonplace...AI development needs to become a top priority for governments around the world...we focus OpenAI research towards RSI as we believe it is the only way to remain at the frontier of AI research moving forward.

OpenAI is releasing data on AI accelerating AI research: https://openai.com/index/research-acceleration-view-inside-openai/

We do not yet know how to safely get all the way to aligned, full RSI. We are working to scale alignment and safety measures alongside capabilities. But we cannot assume that progress in alignment and safety will keep pace...

Trump: "We lose $200 billion a year with the European Union. If I didn't trade with them, we would lose nothing."

Finally, a president with real economic knowledge explains how harmful trade is for America.

For too long America has been bailing out the rest of the world through trade. It's time to stop this.

Imagine a person of average intelligence and education who is paralyzed from the neck down and uses a Neuralink implant to move a cursor and a robotic arm. Is this person generally intelligent? If so, then GPT-6-Astra is too. Indeed, the breadth of capabilities of Astra is much broader.

Some quotes that make it clear why Trump is happy about the success of the German AfD.

Quote from the AfD in the Saxony-Anhalt State Parliament:

What we do not want is American military equipment or American soldiers on German soil. We also do not want American drones controlled from Ramstein, or American missiles in our homeland. We must ensure that we have a capable Bundeswehr and can defend ourselves. That is our goal.

Quote from the AfD basic program:

The AfD advocates the withdrawal of all Allied troops still stationed on German soil, and in particular of their nuclear weapons.

Quotes by Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, deputy parliamentary group leader of the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt, and doctor of Islamic studies:

The situation of our country is not that we are in vassalage to Russia and are being oppressed by Russia, but rather that this government is a vassal government of the United States. This stranglehold is harming us. The United States is a tottering colossus; it is falling and dragging us into this struggle.

What the United States is doing now is forcing us to buy its dirty and expensive gas, and forcing us to give up Russian goods and Russian gas.

A recent statement by AfD federal chairman Tino Chrupalla:

Our party program calls for the withdrawal of Allied troops and nuclear weapons from Germany. Let’s start putting that into practice β€” by withdrawing U.S. troops from Germany.

---

As you can see, supporting the AfD aligns perfectly with Trump's broader policy of weakening NATO, threatening allies, flattering enemies, and literally putting a photo of Putin in the White House. Getting AfD to power is the perfect way to make Germany align with America's enemies, stop buying America's energy, and make America lose access to the most important bases in the region.

Tucker Carlson asks why algebra puts letters into numbers.

Jess Elofson explains: "I think just to fuck with you."

They discuss how they've never met anyone in their life who uses algebra, which is "fake math" for people "in the matrix."

They conclude that caring about algebra is something that only "good little goy slaves" do.

More from Psyho on Astra:

At this point I tested Astra+codex against around 30 obscure puzzle games. By tested I mean I watched it play and read it's notes. The agents were sandboxed, had no internet access and had no access to coding tools. Those were mostly puzzlescript games: some rule discovery, very tough levels, usually minimalistic level design, turn based and grid based. I used action batching to speed up the process.

Some observations:
- Astra can do pathfinding/planning without code. It's not perfect and often has tiny mistakes, but I often get 20-30 actions in a single batch, which is on par with expert puzzle players.
- Due to those mistakes, I don't think it has code execution under the hood. The mistakes are very human-like: choosing longer paths that require less thinking, one off errors (miscalculating the number of moves required, resets a level that can be still solved)
- Insanely action efficient with rule discovery. Can effectively mix rule discovery with solving the level. This is probably thanks to hardcore action efficiency optimization for ARC-AGI-3.
- It understands the common visual language that puzzle games use, but has no problem with games that use completely different visual language.
- In easy/simple levels it often finds optimal/near-optimal solutions right away.
- For very hard games, it visibly gets lost. The drop in performance wrt the difficulty level is bigger than in expert players.
- For very hard levels, it's usually required to split the solving path into intermediate goals. Astra struggles with that (compared to expert players), but it's decent at that.
- In very hard levels, even when Astra looks like it's doing random pointless actions, it's still making slow progress. I'd expect that having many agents in parallel cooperating, would speed up the process.
- I'd expect that the performance drastically drops when the context grows. The games I've used are relatively simple (in terms of complexity) but very deep in terms of logic.

I admit my first guess about the PISA test score collapse in Germany was related to a further increase in pupils with a migration background. But the phenomenon is truly global and concerns places such as Japan, Serbia, and Hong Kong. The scores in countries such as Israel declined much more than in Germany. Surprisingly, England is an outlier and bucked the international trend of collapsing school test scores.

Very puzzling!
