Texas lawmakers passed a bill Sunday that would prohibit any COVID-related mandates.

Senate Bill 29 prohibits local governing bodies from adopting or enforcing mask requirements, vaccine mandates or business or school closures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It was authored by state Sen. Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury.
