Open Call: Fantomas
Medrar for Contemporary Art, the Visual Arts Forum (Palestine) and Flyer (Italy) are happy to announce the open call for our upcoming lab: FANTOMAS.
This alliance was implemented in the framework of the All-Around Culture programme by L’art Rue & MitOst and co-funded by the European Union in Egypt and EUNIC - European Union National Institutes for Culture in Egypt.
Fantomas is an 8-week lab that will take place from October to November 2022 at Medrar for Contemporary art where 5 visual artists will create VR experiences that embody future imaginations of collective realities. In the first 3 weeks of the lab, artist and curator Maha Maamoun will support the participants in the conceptual development of their projects and later on, artist Jean-François Robin will accompany them in the production phase.

Patchlab Festival is an annual internationally recognised event for art based on the latest technologies and creative coding. It tries to reflect the constantly changing influence of technology on society and the environment by means of art. It has been organised in Krakow, Poland since 2012. It is organised by the Photon Foundation.
The festival program is focused on creative potential in machines, algorithms, programming and databases, exploring key phenomena in contemporary culture and digital art, including VR/AR/XR, artificial intelligence, hacking and digital identities. Videomapping Pasolini Corviale
The project celebrates Pasolini with a projection of 4 monumental video mapping works on the famous building in Corviale. BBBank Projection Mapping Award 2023
The BBBank Projection Mapping Award again invites international artists to participate with their ideas in 2023. The Grand Prize is 10,000 euros plus a grant to produce the artwork for the main program of the Schlosslichtspiele Light Festival in 2023. The prizes for the runners-up is 5,000 euros and 2,000 euros, respectively. All winners will be honored at an awards ceremony.
The organizer is the BBBank eG Karlsruhe in cooperation with the ZKM | Karlsruhe.
