Call for VR Projects - Lieu.City

“Call for VR Projects”, is a project funded by @lieu.city.virtual , the first social platform for art related events in virtual reality. The objective of this Call Competition is to identify, select, reward and promote innovative museum exhibition solutions, which implement an approach strongly oriented towards improving the use of art and culture.
This "call for ideas" is aimed at projects relating to exhibitions of modern, contemporary and design art that you want to transpose also on digital.

The following can submit an application to participate in this Call for applications:
● Museums, intended as a permanent, non-profit institution at the service of society and its development.
● Non-profit organizations linked to the world of art.

The deadline for submitting applications is set from 10.00 am on April 1st 2021 to 7.00 pm on May 31st 2021.

REAKTOR Call for Concepts

In its transdisciplinary program, the @REAKTORWien presents works that breathe the spirit of their time.
The REAKTOR Call for Concepts of the same name traces this potential in the visual arts. Special attention will be paid to space-consuming art for the architectural heart of the REAKTOR, for the large hall.

The selected artists are invited to deepen and implement their submitted concept as part of a one-week stay in summer and to confront it with the public in an exhibition in the second half of October.
The REAKTOR tea For the realization of the exhibition there is a production budget of up to € 3,500 and practical support from the REAKTOR technical team.

Lumen Prize 2021


Lumen Prize celebrates the very best art created with technology through a global competition, exhibitions and events worldwide run by Lumen Art Projects. Now in the tenth year, the annual juried competition draws entries from artists globally and has given away more than US$80,000 in prize money.
All art that interacts with technology in some form is allowed.
The entry fee starts from $38 and varies based on the number of entries. The base fee covers two entries.

Burn_Slow - Open call & Online programme

Burn_Slow unites experienced and young sound artists and art students from 6 Nordic and Baltic countries to create a Sound and Radio Art programme exploring mental ecology and the therapeutic aspects of sound making in times of social seclusion.

Online programme on May 21st and 22nd consists of lectures, skill-sharing workshops, discussion and innovative joint networked sound art performance.
After the workshops participants will have one week to finalise their sound and radio art projects and submit them for a concert on PIXELACHE festival audio programme #BURN___ by @pixelache. Skilled jury will decide upon the selection of best works and award €200 grant for 10 best audio pieces.

Open Screen 2021


Developed in partnership with Shape Arts, Open Screen is arebyte’s yearly open call for digital artists working online to be exhibited on arebyte on Screen, an expanded and innovative online platform for digital animations, videos, web-based interactive experiences and curatorial interventions.

Arebyte welcomes artists who are working with technology to their advantage, or overcoming barriers, criticising matters of inclusivity within technology, and everything in between.

Open Screen is actively aiming to address an area of underrepresentation in the art industry with proposals exploring the role of digital technologies and the new opportunities it creates or hinders; from experiments in augmented, virtual and mixed reality, to fake news, online bots, social media, darknet and deep fakes.

The COCA Project 2021

The COCA Project 2021 is a competition for emerging artists and designers that offers the opportunity to join the network of The House of Collectors, to exhibit in Italy, to create an artistic production and to participate in artistic residencies. COCA Project 2021 is open to all adult artists of any nationality.

This third edition includes 3 Open Calls in one:

1) The financing of an artistic production of the value of up to € 5,000.00 to the winning artist and the opportunity of exhibiting in Italy in The House of Collectors.

2) International and national artists will be selected to create 3 artistic residencies in Grottaglie (Italy).

3) The finalists will be selected for an exhibition in The House of Collector will have the maximum visibility of their online profile on cocaproject.art to promote works selected by COCA to Italian collectors.

Sound Travels Festival of Sound Art

NAISA’s longest running festival will feature outdoor sound art exhibitions at the NAISA North Media Arts Centre as well as on-line events.
@NAISASoundArt introduces its new programming theme Digital in Nature.
During the summer 3 interactive works will be exhibited outdoors.

- My Place Here and Now (Who am I Today?) by Port Sidney director Sandy McLennan, an interactive installation on June 3
- Sounding Bodies by Jonathan Tyrrell, an immersive outdoor instrument on June 3
- The Mycorrhizal Rhythm Machine by Tosca Terán (aka Nanotopia) on July 29.

NAISA will host a special 24-hour online broadcast on the theme “The Unquiet Earth” on July 18
On August 14th, NAISA will present an online listening party on Whereby.

Call For Artists - Blooming Festival 2021

Blooming is a unique festival in Italy: it invades the old town of Pergola with installations, projections, performances in churches and cellars that are usually closed or seldom open to public visitors.

@bloomingfestival welcomes an external new media art project for one of its locations. The project should match the concept of "blooming", meant as evolution or change in any form or state. Projects can include installations, sound art, light art, interactive installations, immersive installations, videomapping, A/V performances, etc...
Projects about technologic exploration of nature, that focus on showing the changes and evolution of natural elements by means of technologic devices, will be taken in special consideration.

Deadline for submission: 31th July 2021. The application is free of charge.

EVA London 2021


EVA London’s focus is on the development and application of visualisation technologies to various domains, including art, music, dance, theatre and the sciences.
Due to the pandemic, there is no announced opening date for the BCS London office where they normally hold the EVA London conference, so they plan an entirely online conference again, using Zoom platform.
EVA LondonConference themes are about the use of new and emerging technologies (to be broadly interpreted), and a focus on “AI and the Arts: Artificial Imagination”

Open Call - Cosmolights v.02

Creative projection mapping designers from all over the world are invited to take part in the 2nd CosmoLights International Competition to be held during the Cosmopolis 2021 festival, in order to connect the history and exceptional architecture of the Municipal Tobacco Warehouse of Kavala with one unique show.

The event will start on August 26 and will run until August 29, 2021.

The 3 finalists of the competition, who will be selected by the public and the festival curators, will each receive a prize.

Unsound focuses on a broad swath of contemporary music.Unsound returns to South Australia on July 31st with lineup curated for MAAD at Illuminate Adelaide.
As part of Illuminate Adelaide’s MAAD series the Unsound banner will fly once more over the city’s west end on July 31st, with Unsound curating 8 shows at Lion Arts Factory and Jive, this time showcasing the vibrancy of the Australian experimental and electronic music scenes. The program at Jive includes iconic bands HTRK and MY DISCO as well as experimental musicians Del Lumanta and Aviva Andean, while Lion Arts Factory showcases the vanguard of Australian club music with DJ Plead, Air Max '97 and Corin, with live visuals by Capital Waste.
