❗️After being hidden from the most of the Federal Election campaign, Chris Bowen has been spotted out for the first time in weeks, desperately handing out how-to-vote cards at pre-polling in his Western Sydney electorate.
Bowen’s area of responsibility - the price of energy - has been a major issue in this election, yet the Labor government’s highest profile Minister has effectively been in hiding.
In his seat of McMahon, Bowen is being challenged by a conservative independent and one-time Liberal Party executive Matt Camenzuli.
A recent Compass poll indicated Camenzuli had more than double the support of the Climate Change and Energy Minister ahead of the May 3 election. Bowen has held this notionally safe Labor seat since 2010.
