The State Duma at a plenary session adopted in the first reading a package of bills providing legal protection for foreign citizens and stateless persons who are serving or have served contractual service in the Russian Armed Forces and participated in combat operations.
The documents prohibit administrative expulsion, deportation, cancellation of residence permits, refusal of entry, and declaring their stay undesirable in relation to such individuals. It also provides for the mandatory refusal to extradite them to foreign states at the request of extradition.
The bill secures legal stability for those who, not being Russian citizens, have shown loyalty to its interests and courage on the front line.
