🚨 ONE NATION FLAGS CUTS TO FAMILY VISAS IN EXPANDED MIGRATION CRACKDOWN

One Nation says it is open to cutting Australia’s permanent family visa intake, including visas used to bring partners and dependent children into the country.

MP David Farley says the number should depend on whether Australia has enough housing, healthcare and education infrastructure to support further population growth.

It comes after One Nation unveiled plans to cut temporary migration by roughly 750,000 over three years, with its full immigration strategy due within the next fortnight.

⚠️ NEW HOME SALES FALL SHARPLY ACROSS AUSTRALIA

New home sales fell 10% in August and 19.3% over winter, with sales now 7.7% lower than a year ago, according to the HIA.

Victoria recorded the biggest winter decline at 27%, followed by Queensland at 20.2% and NSW at 17.5%.

⚠️ SYDNEY HOUSING DOWNTURN HITS NSW REVENUE

NSW residential stamp-duty revenue fell 24% year-on-year in August, as property sales dropped 18%.

Sydney home values are now more than 7% below their peak, while the NSW government expects to collect around $5.3 billion less in stamp duty over the next four years as the housing slowdown continues.

🚨 TWO NSW FOOTBALLERS FOUND GUILTY OF RAPING 18-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

Scone Thoroughbreds rugby league players Hayden Topliss, 37, and Ryan Hawkshaw, 27, have been found guilty over the rape of an 18-year-old woman at Scone in 2023.

The Newcastle District Court heard the woman repeatedly said “no” and “stop” during the assault. Both men claimed the encounter was consensual, but the jury rejected their defence and found them guilty on all charges after one day of deliberations.

Their bail has been revoked and both are now in custody ahead of sentencing in November.

🚨 LABOR FINALLY ORDERS CRACKDOWN ON 77,700 UNLAWFUL MIGRANTS

The Albanese government is expanding Australian Border Force field operations to track down people living in Australia without a valid visa, as Labor unveils its long-delayed migration overhaul today.

Home Affairs data puts the unlawful non-citizen population at about 77,700, including 25,800 people who had been without lawful status for more than a decade.

Labor is also tightening temporary visa rules as it tries to reduce net overseas migration from around 300,000 to 225,000 by 2028.

⚠️ POLL SHOWS SHARP VOTING DIVIDE BY COUNTRY OF BIRTH

New Roy Morgan data shows major differences in voting intention between Australian-born voters and some of Australia’s largest migrant communities.

Among Australian-born electors, 25% support One Nation, compared with 8% of India-born voters and 5% of Mainland China-born voters. Labor support sits at 32% among Australian-born voters, rising to 43% among India-born and 46% among China-born electors.

The analysis surveyed 26,418 Australian electors between January and July 2026, though individual migrant-group samples were much smaller.

⚠️ UPDATE: 92% OF APPROVED GRANT MONEY HAS GONE TO LABOR SEATS

Earlier analysis found 73.2% of $559.2 million in allocations under Labor’s community infrastructure grants program went to Labor-held electorates.

Now, of the $248 million in projects actually approved since March, 92% has gone to Labor-held seats.

A Senate inquiry has now been launched into how projects were selected, with Labor voting against establishing the inquiry. The government maintains the program was properly administered.

🚨 CRYPTO TRADER JAILED OVER $2.6M ANONYMOUS CRYPTO OPERATION

Australian crypto trader Michael Sloggett, 43, has been sentenced to 2 years and 9 months in prison after pleading guilty to dealing with money he had reasonable grounds to suspect was proceeds of crime.

His operation handled $2.6 million across 156 transactions, letting customers buy crypto without normal identity checks or transaction records.

🚨 RECORD 14-YEAR SENTENCE OVER $50M CRYPTO MONEY-LAUNDERING SCHEME

Shabtay Yaacoby, 56, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for laundering more than $50 million in scam proceeds through businesses including crypto exchange Blue Star Exchange.

Investigators traced around $40 million in crypto to overseas scammers, while Yaacoby was found to have communicated with scammers through Telegram.

It is the longest money-laundering sentence ever handed down in Australia.

🚨 18-YEAR-OLD FACES 30 EXTREMISM AND CHILD ABUSE CHARGES

A Queensland teenager is facing 30 federal charges after an FBI tip allegedly linked an Australian account to violent extremist content and references to terrorist attacks.

Police allege the 18-year-old operated multiple social media channels promoting violence against Muslims, Jews and migrants. A search of his Warner home allegedly uncovered violent extremist material and child abuse material on seized devices.

⚠️ POLICE SEIZE $1.1M ARMOURED MAYBACH

Taskforce Falcon detectives have seized an armoured Mercedes-Maybach worth about $1.1 million during a raid on a Pyrmont apartment building.

Two men, aged 29 and 30, were arrested, with police also allegedly seizing drugs. The investigation is linked to an earlier raid where a Glock pistol, brass knuckles and a knife were allegedly found.

🚨 NSW LIBERALS VOW TO FREEZE LABOR’S GUN BUYBACK

The NSW Liberals say they will freeze the state’s gun buyback for licensed firearm owners and launch an inquiry into NSW firearms laws if elected.

The opposition also wants tougher penalties targeting illegal guns, including mandatory jail for unlawful firearm possession and a maximum life sentence for gun trafficking.

🚨 WOMAN IN HER 90s STABBED TO DEATH AT BONDI BEACH

A woman aged in her 90s has died after being found with critical stab wounds inside a unit on Chambers Avenue, Bondi Beach, about 5:15pm today.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Surry Hills Police Station. No charge had been announced at the latest update.
