🚨 18-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER GUN AND MACHETE CHAOS AT MELBOURNE SHOPPING CENTRE

An 18-year-old man has been charged after two groups of youths allegedly clashed at Craigieburn Central in Melbourne’s north, with machetes wielded and at least one shot fired as terrified families fled or hid inside stores.

The groups involved have been reported as African migrant youths. Police arrested the 18-year-old days later and allegedly found him carrying a pen pistol, ammunition, machete and extendable baton.

Other alleged offenders remain outstanding.

🚨 PUSH TO BLAST ISLAMIC CALL TO PRAYER OVER SYDNEY SUBURB HITS ROADBLOCK

Lakemba Mosque’s plan to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer over loudspeakers in Sydney’s south-west is facing likely rejection, with Canterbury-Bankstown Council raising concerns over noise and the impact on surrounding residents.

The mosque wants four loudspeakers installed on its minaret to broadcast the Adhan every Friday, but more than 1,600 objections have been lodged against the proposal.

⚠️ CCTV RELEASED OF FIREBOMBING LINKED TO $20M EXTORTION

Victoria Police have released CCTV showing two men pouring accelerant over cars and the front of a Yarraville home before throwing Molotov cocktails and fleeing. A woman and young child were inside, while both vehicles were destroyed and the house badly damaged.

Police believe the attack was linked to an incident one month earlier, when three Bandidos confronted the 47-year-old resident, assaulted him and demanded $20 million, threatening to burn his home down if he failed to pay. The three bikies have since been sentenced.

⚠️ HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN SUSPECTED MORTGAGE FRAUD UNCOVERED

AUSTRAC has uncovered potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in fraudulent home loans after analysing mortgage data from 10 major banks, with much of the suspected activity linked to Sydney property.

Investigators found alleged fake incomes, employment and businesses, along with offshore money being used to fund settlements and repayments.

Hundreds of brokers, accountants, lawyers and companies have now reportedly been referred to authorities as they investigate how deeply the fraud has penetrated Australia’s housing and banking system.

🚨 UPDATE: FIVE SYDNEY SWANS PLAYERS BANNED FOR REST OF 2026 SEASON

Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey, Chad Warner, James Jordon and Riley Bice will not play again this season, including finals, following the Swans’ internal investigation into the Melbourne hotel incident.

The club says the bans relate to breaches of its behaviour standards and are separate from Victoria Police’s ongoing sexual-assault investigation. The AFL has backed the sanctions.

🚨 THREE 17-YEAR-OLD BOYS CHARGED OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TEEN GIRL

Three 17-year-old boys have been charged after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at a home in the Macarthur region on Saturday. Police launched an investigation after the incident was reported the following day.

Detectives raided several homes on Wednesday, seizing electronic devices before arresting the three boys. One faces 11 charges, another eight, and the third two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company. All three were refused bail.

⚠️ MAC-11, SILENCER AND $250K IN DRUGS SEIZED IN SYDNEY RAID

Police have allegedly seized a MAC-11 machine pistol, shortened rifle, firearm silencer, ammunition and a large amount of cash during a raid on a Granville property in Sydney’s west.

More than $250,000 worth of drugs were also allegedly found, including 445g of cocaine, 200g of GBL, meth and MDMA, along with six encrypted criminal communication devices.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with 15 offences, while a 37-year-old woman was also charged over the raid. Both were refused bail as police continue investigating the alleged organised supply of drugs and firearms.

🚨 UK GOVT HAS TO REMIND ASYLUM SEEKERS NOT TO ABUSE WOMEN

The UK Home Office has released new guidance specifically for asylum seekers explaining that men and women have equal rights, women do not need permission from male relatives to work or travel, sex requires consent, and rape, domestic abuse and harassment are illegal.

The guide tells arrivals that British laws and customs may differ from those in their home countries. Its release has sparked backlash online, with critics questioning why such basic societal norms need to be explicitly taught to people being allowed to remain in the country.

Labor is considering deploying more immigration officers to actively track down and deport people who have overstayed their visas, while also looking at stripping work rights from rejected asylum seekers.

The crackdown comes as more than 111,000 people with failed protection claims remain in Australia. Labor insiders reportedly fear the plan will be branded an “ICE-style” crackdown and seen as a response to growing pressure from One Nation.
