This Thursday Anthony Albanese and Jacinta Allan are rolling out the red carpet for Modi at Marvel Stadium to give India even more concessions amongst an audience of 30,000 Indians living in Australia. They’re expected to gift Modi a “little India” in the same Docklands the event takes place and to announce a raft of state and federal immigration expansions, Just like Sydney 2023 when Albanese called Modi “the boss” before unveiling Little India in Harris Park alongside the Migration and Mobility Partnership.

All of this is happening while Australia faces a housing crisis, rising rents, congestion, and wage pressure and at a time when immigration and India is more unpopular than ever.
