Xpense is finally becoming some thing better tbh.

For those who are new here (or wondering what I've been building 😅), here's what Xpense actually is here is where the first relase of xpense app like a year ago i guess .

Xpense isn't just an expense tracker.
It's a personal finance companion built to help you understand where your money goes, plan ahead, and make better financial decisions.

You can:

• Create multiple budgets for different parts of your life (Food, Rent, Transport, Savings, etc.)
• Allocate your income automatically across those budgets.
• Track every expense and recurring payment.
• See where your money is going over time.
• Manage savings goals.
• Get financial insights from your spending history.
• And soon... chat with an AI financial advisor that understands your finances not just generic budgeting advice.

The AI won't just answer questions.

It knows your financial profile, your budgets, your cash flow, your transactions, recurring expenses, and spending habits so it can give advice that's actually relevant to you.

I originally built Xpense because I needed it myself.

Now I'm building it for anyone who wants to be intentional with their money.

Whether you're:
• a student,
• employed,
• freelancing,
• running a business,
• supporting a family,
• or simply trying to save more...

Xpense is designed to grow with you.

Everything is offline-first, your data stays on your device, and the goal isn't to tell you not to spend money it's to help you spend it wisely.

There's still a lot more coming, but I'm really happy with the direction it's heading.

Jemaw, continuing the Xpense journey...

When I first started building Xpense, I honestly didn't imagine it would become what it is today.

The first version came from a very personal problem.

While working as a BeU Delivery rider, I needed a way to control my money better and save for things that mattered. I wasn't building a product idea at the time I was just trying to solve my own problem.

That opportunity to start the delivery job came through Amaha and Mohamed during one of the hardest times for me. Without their support, Xpense might never have started because the problem that inspired it wouldn't have existed big shout out to them i said i wouldnt mention their names but i guess this is the time.

Now, after a year of building and improving, Xpense is entering a new chapter.

The AI direction came from conversations with Bini and Kalkidan, founders of Addis AI i met the same event and day where where i will be showcasing Equib Manager at Ethio Blockchain Week 2026. They helped me see how AI could make Xpense more personal not just a tool that stores financial data, but something that can understand a person's situation and provide meaningful guidance.

Looking back at where it started and where it is now is honestly crazy.

A simple problem I had became a product I'm building for anyone trying to have a better relationship with money.

Still more improvements are coming.

One thing I want you to keep in mind: this is still the beta MVP version of Xpense.

There are a few things that are currently in testing mode. For example, the AI advisor is powered by Ollama during this phase and is using my own API key, so please keep that in mind while trying it out.

Your feedback during this stage is really important because it will help shape the next version.

Based on your suggestions and my own testing, the next update will be the official release, and I honestly can't wait to see how you use the new Xpense app and hear your thoughts about it.

well it was weeks ago i planned this and now am finally done @equbmanager and @xpensse is fully automated from build to posting to the telegram channel all i have to do from now on is just work on the project updates

Good morning Jemaw

Jemaw here's the idea behind the logo design so that hopefully will make things clear.

The goal was to create a simple, clean design while keeping a consistent visual identity across all of my projects. Instead of making completely different logos every time, I'm designing each one around the initials of the project name.

For example, the Equib Manager logo is built around EQ, while keeping the colors, border radius, and overall style familiar to the app's UI.

I know the designs might look basic, and that's intentional. Right now I'm experimenting with clean, interface-friendly branding that focuses on simplicity rather than complexity. The initials become the identity of each project while still feeling connected.

The long-term vision is that, as more projects are released, all of their icons from A to Z will sit side by side and feel like they're part of the same family. That's the pattern I'm building toward.

But with that said I'll create a poll today and we're gonna decide either to redesign or keep it the logo.

But make sure to read the idea behind the design first so that we make a reasonable decision.

I've signedup for the coming cursor ai hackathon but unfortunately I won't be able to attend the competition due to schedule conflicts between work meeting on Sunday and the event

Since I've to choose one it's obvious I'd go to the work meeting but this is brutal decision tho I really wanted to attend hackathon after long time
