Samaveda, which is pleasing to the deva-s, consists of two parts - Aarchikam and Ganam. The first consists of Rik-s (mantra-s in different meters). The second portion consists of Saama which are musical expansions of each of the rik-s. Here two Saama-s from the Gramageya portion and one Saama from the Aranyaganam portion, all addressed to Agni Devata are sung. Agni is the mental force, will power, necessary for all action and hence many mantra-s and sukta-s are dedicated to this Devata in all the Veda-s.
