Каждый день с 1 по 20 декабря в полдень открывается модуль с теорией или с практикой. За задачи из практических блоков вы будете получать баллы, максимум — 100 баллов за всё соревнование. В теоретических — полезная информация для выполнения заданий. Решать задачи можно будет до 25 декабря на платформе Stepik.

🎉👨‍🎓 Congratulations to Vladimir Lenok with successful defense of his PhD thesis with high grade "magna cum laude" (translated as "very good") in the challenging examination at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology! His thesis called "Measurement of the Cosmic-Ray Energy Spectrum Using a Novel Approach to Model the Aperture of Radio Arrays" develops an accurate treatment of aperture and exposure estimation for the sparse radio arrays aimed at the detection of ultra-high energy cosmic particles with direct application to Tunka-Rex, Pierre Auger radio and future detectors. 🎄We have planned to make several posts on highlights from 2021, but decided to not bother you (and missed all deadlines as well 😅), so here we give a short summary on what happened last year.

The main event of course is the establishing of the Astroparticle Lab itself with support of different institutions. This allowed us to speedup the finalization of several projects, which were presented on the largest cosmic ray conference, ICRC2021. Beside it we presented our works at few other events, which resulted in several publications.

We contribute to the education and training of the future generations: our group provided student projects for the JetBrains Internships and MIPT-NPM program as well as joined the International Cosmic Day.

Last, but not least, we took some rest time and participated in Kaggle competition on gravitation waves detection having lot of fun and nice final result.

We are looking forward for the new achievements in these difficult times and wish you a peaceful 2022! Stay tuned for the exciting astrophysical discoveries in upcoming year!

Gammapy is an open-source Python package for gamma-ray analysis. It is used as core library for the Science Analysis tools of Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), and can be used to analyse data from existing gamma-ray telescopes. It was initiated in 2014 in the field of astronomy and astrophysics.
