i rejected a girl who liked me sexually by coming out to her… n it didn’t go well

so this girl has had a crush on me for 4/5 years, i used to think she was jokingly flirting and through her i realised i didn’t really like women or men (as i’m a woman) and today she was making strange sexual innuendos towards me and i couldn’t really be bothered to try and escape them through awkward laughs and i just looked her in the eyes and said “i’m asexual” and she said that it “wasn’t true” because i “liked timothee chalamet” n i said that i could like someone without wanting to fuck them. she said that she would be making fun of me in her groupchat later and she told all of her friends. the funny thing is, she’s gay so i thought she could kind of understand the fear of telling people your sexuality and hoping they accept you. she gave me a weird judgemental look and went off. idk, i feel judged and i know she might be a little hurt but i can’t help but feel constantly alert of my sexuality now. i feel like i just shared a piece of me to her and she just denied it??? i thought it would be better to tell her so she could maybe stop flirting with me but now she thinks she can “change me” idk… i’m really uncomfortable by it, and she’s kinda scary sometimes so i’m scared if i tell her to stop she might be really rude and maybe be violent to me?? i hope the sexual comments stop but yeah… idk why i wanted to share this, but i just feel the need to let it out yk?

Defend the alliance! Disney is cancelling The Owl House because people have complained about the MC being bi. Many aces are bi, and we love our allo-bi friends too. We must stand together for representation! (Change.org petition link included)

https://www.change.org/p/disney-don-t-cancel-the-owl-house-diversity-is-important-give-us-season-4

Note: Disney’s official reason for cancellation is COVID money loss. A group of conservative parents called “One Million Moms” have been demanding the show be canceled, calling it’s themes “evil”. Many think this is Disney’s true reason for cancellation and that, with enough support, we may be able to turn the tide and save the show.

Update: (As I said to someone below)

The title may have been poor phrasing on my part, I was sharing the information as it was shared with me. We can only speculate on Disney’s motives.

I should have slowed down and phrased things more neutrally.

The core point is that losing a loveable show with MC representation stings when there is already so little out there. The show has been hotly contested by conservative groups and widely beloved by fans.

If Disney needs support to keep the show alive, then maybe we can help with that!

The petition is ONLY about keeping the show on air.

Thank you for reading!

My daughter is questioning, how do i support her?

So I was in bed with my family last night (we all do something called a "cuddle puddle") and she was laying in my partners arms while he played with her hair. She just started crying and we asked her what was wrong. She was like "I don't want it to happen to me" and we asked what she meant she said sex. And I told her she didn't have to do it if she she wasn't comfortable with it. She was very shocked with that answer. I'm assuming because in an allo-normative society it is somewhat of standard to have sex.

We were in the bathroom while I brushed my teeth and she was doing her hair and she was like dad? I was like hm? she asked me "Am I broken?" I answered no.

Since learning that me and her other parents still love her she's been more open to talking to us about it.

"I don't like sex without emotion, I would only want to be intimate with someone I loved and can give my everything to. But that's not necessary, I would be fine just being in someone's arms. Just being held."

I just want to know how better I can help her.

Sexualization of everything makes me sick.

So yeah, this is a vent. Feel free to disagree idc. Everything in this stupid world is so god damn sexualized. This vent was inspired by a post I just saw on a different subreddit, one for a show I like.

I watch a lot of animated shows and a lot of them are considered “kid’s shows.” Personally it makes me uncomfortable when people sexualize media in general, but I swear to god the fandoms of some cartoons are just so annoying when it comes to this stuff.

The post I saw on the other sub was calling one of the villains of the show “hot” and saying that was somehow a redeemable quality. I get that allos sometimes experience sexual attraction to characters but how the FUCK is that a redeemable quality? Allos actually think that them experiencing sexual attraction to a person makes them more valuable, or more good. This character was definitely not written to have redeemable qualities and the poster acknowledged that and said that their only redeemable quality was that they were “hot”.

While there’s nothing wrong with liking villain characters it just annoys me when people treat being “hot” as a redeemable quality. The worst thing though was another person’s comment on the post. They said “They the animators must have given him asymmetrical eyes to show that he was irredeemable lmao.” Like….what?! Was the multiple genocides, abuse, and mind-control possession of almost an entire planet not irredeemable enough that this allo thinks the animators had to give the character a stereotypical “ugly” trait to show that they were irredeemable? Do allos actually think that having “ugly” traits makes you evil and less valuable, while having “hot” traits makes you more redeemable and more valuable?

And it’s not just this specific instance too. There are so many times (especially on Twitter) where judging people based on their looks/height is seen as ok. Sometimes a bad person will do something and the Twitter comments will be “Oh they have insert “ugly” trait, no wonder they’re like this,” or “We’ll listen to you when you don’t have “ugly” trait anymore,” or something ridiculous like that. On the reverse of that, sometimes I’ll see people on my feed say stuff like “Not only am I insert good quality here, I’m also hot.” It’s like, so? That doesn’t actually matter! Whenever anyone does anything bad ever, people always resort to body-shaming and virgin-shaming, rather than shaming them for the actual bad thing they did.

Anyways, this was just a vent about how frustrated I am at the allo world’s correlation between attractiveness and value as a person/whether they deserve forgiveness. Sorry if anyone was offended by this.

This is totally me as a demisexual 😅 Any other aces relate? I don’t want to have sex and get married to them, just stay up late talking, give hugs and maybe cuddle while watching a movie…like friends but a teeny-tiny extra, you know?
