I'm tired of having to defend my sex repulsivity
Just that. "It's everywhere now. What's the big deal?" It's everywhere now, that's what.
My brother was showing me a new TV show. He started to say "fair warning" about an episode but then changed his mind. I frowned and said "only fair warning I need is if there's a sex scene."
"Why does it bother you so much?"
I hate this question. I don't know why it bothers me. I just don't like it. I don't like seeing kids get hit head on by a train, and I don't like when gratuitous violence is explicitly used for humor. I don't know why.
I just asked him "what's it to you? How does it affect you that I don't like something?" And his response was "it affects me when I have to give a warning."
Whatever, I never asked you for one but sorry you feel so fucking put upon when asked what's in a movie you've already seen. So I checked IMDb and saw the show had sex scenes, which was disappointing because I was actually interested in the show. But I decided for my mental health not to even bother anymore, so I just said he can keep watching and I walked out of the room. And he just laughed at me. Laughed.
What is it to you that I don't like something?
Happens with books, too, only readers are even bigger assholes about it, and there's no "imdb" to give content warnings for books. You don't laugh when a fiction reader doesn't read nonfiction. You don't laugh when someone has no interest in books about romance. Why is it so scornful that I don't want to read about sex scenes?
Seriously, what is it to you? Please just leave me the fuck alone already.

I just need to rant. Sorry if this comes out jumbled.
Just got a response to a YouTube comment I made that ended with “I don’t understand a man who wants a woman who isn’t interested in sex at all unless he’s also asexual.” I want to scream. I’m a sex repulsed ace who’s married to an allo man. I already have self-esteem problems, and seeing things like this just plain hurts. It’s just reaffirming that little voice I try so hard to shut up “You don’t deserve him. He deserves so much better than you. You can’t even properly love all of him.” I’m shaking so bad right now. It makes me so disgusted and mad that people believe I can’t be in my current relationship because I don’t want to have s*x with my husband. I’m going to scream.

Athena, Greek goddess highly likely to be asexual. Daughter of Zeus, she never had children nor sex, and was born through asexual means. Freud once described Athena as "a woman who is unapproachable and repels all sexual desires."

Has anyone else gotten people who try to "move the goalposts"?
I've known I was aromantic and asexual since I was really young. Even before I was a teenager, I would constantly insist that I don't want to get into a relationship at all, and as soon as I first discovered the word "asexual" (I had to be like 11 or 12), I said "Yep! That's me!", and the identity has been with me until today, and I'm currently 21. At first, I've had people telling me things like "Wait until you get deep into puberty, and then the hormones will change your mind.", and I felt like it was so untrue (it was), but now I get some of the same people telling me "Wait until you're 25! That's when the brain stops fully developing.". Why do people feel like they have to keep moving the goalposts? Is it really that hard for people to accept that aroace people exist and are minding their own business?

Does anyone else feel confused by the generalization that teens are overly hormonal and sex obsessed? I never felt that way and don't really understand what people are talking about. Took me until my 30s to realize it's because I'm asexual.

I only realized I was asexual less than a year ago (38f), but young!me has apparently been collecting the ace colors of video game systems since she was a tween without realizing it. It makes me happy. I love these colors and just thought I'd share. <3
