Has anyone else gotten people who try to "move the goalposts"?
I've known I was aromantic and asexual since I was really young. Even before I was a teenager, I would constantly insist that I don't want to get into a relationship at all, and as soon as I first discovered the word "asexual" (I had to be like 11 or 12), I said "Yep! That's me!", and the identity has been with me until today, and I'm currently 21. At first, I've had people telling me things like "Wait until you get deep into puberty, and then the hormones will change your mind.", and I felt like it was so untrue (it was), but now I get some of the same people telling me "Wait until you're 25! That's when the brain stops fully developing.". Why do people feel like they have to keep moving the goalposts? Is it really that hard for people to accept that aroace people exist and are minding their own business?

Does anyone else feel confused by the generalization that teens are overly hormonal and sex obsessed? I never felt that way and don't really understand what people are talking about. Took me until my 30s to realize it's because I'm asexual.

I only realized I was asexual less than a year ago (38f), but young!me has apparently been collecting the ace colors of video game systems since she was a tween without realizing it. It makes me happy. I love these colors and just thought I'd share. <3

We aren't anti-sex
When we say we are asexual, people always assume that we are sex repulsed and that they can fix us. But being sex repulsed and asexual are different things. They can influence eachother, but are fundamentally different things. I am acearo in that I don't feel any romantic or sexual attraction. I am not acearo in that I hate relationships and sex.
I'm tired of telling people that I'm not sex repulsed or that I hate nudity in all it's forms. Why does no-one know what being asexual and being aromantic actually mean?

GRSM, LGBTQ+, OR BOTH?
Hey guys! I've been on Reddit for a short time and I've stumbled upon GRSM (gender, romantic, and sexual minorities). I heard that it was more inclusive than LGBTQ+. What's your opinion and why, comment down below! Do you identify yourself with either community or both?
As always, we love you in and out of the closet! 💜

LGBTQIAP+ the A stands for Asexual and Aromantic not Ally... so tell me why do some ace and aro people say they aren't part of the LGBTQIAP+ community when it clearly states it?
we're all valid members no matter the identity just as long as we keep anything strictly allo/cis/hetero out of the LGBTQIAP+ community and can accept that things like MAPs and zoophiles are not part of our wonderful LGBTQIAP+ community. ok rant over just wanted to get this out there...

I accidentally briefly overheard my sister talking to her friends online yesterday. (For context, she’s trans). I heard her mention me and refer to me as “The cool sister who’s queer too”. Then I heard her say “She’s asexual”, then “That still counts!”
That made me so happy! Though I’m a little annoyed by whoever must’ve been on the other side of that conversation.
