YOU ARE STILL PART OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY EVEN IF YOU'RE HETEROROMANTIC AND ASEXUAL
i cannot stress this enough
being heteroromantic does NOT make you HETEROSEXUAL if you're still ASEXUAL.
thank you for your time, i just wanted to make people feel valid.
have a good day.

What do you call someone who is asexual, aromantic, and agender?
A triple A battery

I’VE NEVER FELT SO VALIDATED IRL
Context: I (18m)’ve already made my coming out to my mom as AroAce, though she has still slightly ignored it ever since ("if you ever live with someone else, maybe a girlfriend or boyfriend…" kind of things); and I have "AroAce" in my discord bio (so people in my uni class server can theoretically see it)
So I was at lunch just a few minutes ago and we were joking about how many girlfriends each one had: joking (not in a derogatory meaning) about the fact someone else was not eating with us today because he was eating with his gf a few tables over (which was true), joking that someone had 15 gf, joking that someone’s gf was someone else’s mom, joking that someone had several boyfriends (he confirmed), etc.
Then, my turn comes. "And you, how many girlfriends do you have?" "Everything is detailed in my discord bio" I said, before showing them on my phone: "AroAce". "What’s that?" one said, and another replied "oh, aromantic asexual. You know, asexual is not feeling sexual attraction and aromantic is not feeling love". The other was just like "oh okay, so you won’t have a girlfriend, even later?" (curious but with a positive tone). "Yeah" I replied, "okay" he said, then someone else came and the focus moved to them.
I never felt any validation issues but it feels so relieving for people irl to confirm it!
(shoutout to the guy who briefly explained asexuality before I had the time to btw)
