just wanted to share this funny "accidentally allo" moment i had when i was little
so i was a pretty innocent and naive 9 year old. i didn't know any swear words, slang, or any of this sexual vocab that my classmates seemed to all know.
in thai class i sat next to a boy and a girl who were sort of "popular" because they knew "grown up terms" (aka the sexual vocabs i was talking about earlier). i'm not sure how exactly they got onto this topic but somehow they started talking about "banging" and being the naive little kid i was back then, i thought it just meant to crash into, or to hit, etc. i was a lot less shy back then so i kicked the boy lightly under the table and said confidentially "i banged sam". they laughed and i was a bit confused but i laughed with them. a few days later when we had the class again i did it again because baby me never learns. after about 2 weeks of this, i think they realised that i didnt know what the word meant so they explained to me and i was so embarrassed. thinking back now, its pretty hilarious.

My stepdad changed his mind on asexuality! :D
TW Past aphobia
So a few years ago i tried coming out to my stepdad, but decided to test the waters by asking him what he thought. Back then, he said that its impossible, that everyone falls in love and has sex eventually, and that its just a way of fooling yourself because youre lonely. It obviously made me really sad, and i decided not to come out to him.
A few years after that, i came out to my mom, who was pretty accepting after the initial confusion. I dont know if she told him or not, however.
Well yesterday, me and my stepdad were talking about the show Sex Education. I mentioned that while im not interested in the show at all, that it has asexual representation and that that makes me really happy. He smiled and agreed with me, saying he hasnt seen it in media before and that he thinks its awesome to see. I felt really happy and came out as asexual, and he said its cool and we carried on.
Im really happy about this, and kind of proud of him too, for keeping his mind open!

What does being asexual add to your life?
Time for a thread of positivity folks. What does being asexual add to your life? I’m assuming most things written here will be things that allosexuals can experience too, but what do you feel your asexuality gives you?

i think Leonardo da vencí was in the ace expectrum
a lot of people say that he was gay, and that he never fell atraction for women, and that he has varius male lovers, but somenting that he says in his notebooks is that "The act of procreation and everything related to it is so unpleasant that human beings would soon die if there were no pretty faces and sensual dispositions" and olso some historians agree that he was "celibe"

My dad realized he's on the asexual spectrum after I came out to him
I came out to my dad not too long ago, and despite being incredibly supportive, he didn't seem to really get it. After telling him that asexuality doesn't have any correlation with sex drive, and that I can still feel attracted to people just not in a sexual way, he paused a little bit. Today he told me that he thinks he might be on the spectrum himself. He said that he's only really felt emotionally connected to people, and sex has just been somewhat of a byproduct. I'm really happy that by coming out myself, I was able to help my dad discover himself a little.
