Went on my first date with the same sex!
I'm 27F (genderfluid biromantic asexual) and finally got the courage to go out on a date with a girl. It's been yeeeeaaaarrrrssss since I tried dating so it's definitely new to me. She was very kind. I'm recently out as asexual and she definitely brought that up at dinner (it's in my bio). She was just curious what spectrum I fell into (greyace/aegosexual). She wants to make plans for a second date so I'm excited to see where this goes. 🥰

I’m asexual. As that advanced in my 20s I used to take things that produce brief sexuality (At the expense of my overall health). I finally fully accepted that I’m not sexual once I reached my late 30s. I no longer take things to artificially induce sexuality.

"I am ace" "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that" "Excuse me, what???"
I went to a pride parade (we call them Christopher Street Day or short csd) in May and one of the stewards(is that the right word?) asked me what asexual means. I explained it and added that I do not feel neither sexual nor romantic attraction (I am also aromantic) and am sex-repulsed to which she replied something along the lines of "oh. I am sorry to hear that"..... Lady, excuse me, what?????? I replied that I am pretty glad I am asexual and that if you wouldn't tell a gay dude that you are sad he doesn't feel attracted to women, why say the equivalent of that to an asexual person.
Furthermore I've seen what sexual attraction does to people and am honestly glad that I don't have to experience that.
Edit: I had forgotten to mention that I am also aro. It's in the text now.
Edit 2: the exchange was rather friendly. Just with misguided pity on her side and a lot of bafflement on mine
