One is quite capable, of course, of working out these destructive passions in more vulgar and less efficient ways. But how glorious to release them in a single burst! متى يكون العبد من الذاكرين الله كثيراً؟

غفر الخطايا وإن كانت كزبد البحر

ذكر الله عبودية وإعانة.

الذكر هذا قريب على قلبي هلبا. يذكرك إنَّ وأنتَ تحاول تتقرب إلى ربي، ربي يتقرّب ليك بضعف مما أنتَ تحاول. فإذا تقربت لله شبراً وهو ما يقارب الخمسة سنتيمتر، تقرّب الله إليكَ ذراعاً وهو ما يقارب نصف متر. وإذا تقربت لله ذراعاً، تقرب الله إليكَ باعاً وهو ما يقارب إثنين متر. وإذا تقربت إلى الله مشيّاً، تقرب الله إليكَ هرولاً.
