Your brain needs more rest than youβre giving it.πββ
Shut down laptops and phones to give yourself a tech break. βYou have to understand the way your brain works,β Headlee said. βKeeping your email box open in the background on your computer is an interruption to your brain. Do you want to improve your mental health? π§
Everyone wakes up a few times per night. Cycling out of sleep roughly every 90 minutes to two hours is normal. But frequent wakings can affect physical, emotional and mental functioning. We fail to get adequate quantities of the deepest stages of sleep, and react to disruptions with metabolic, inflammatory and stress responses.

As a psychiatrist, I think about happiness and how to achieve it. And thousands of conversations with patients who are chasing happiness have taught me that it can be a distraction from whatβs really necessary for a better life β fulfillment.
You can begin to cultivate your life in a way that draws you closer to fulfillment, with a few changes: Donβt overreact to highs or lows. Learn to adapt. Develop meaningful relationships. And try not to regret.

The Pros and Cons of Globalizationπ
Art and culture arenβt the only things that spread more easily in a globalized society. The same goes for information and technology. For example, see the rise of mobile banking in Kenya or the practice of micro-lending. Civil society groups can look to other countries for inspiration and good ideas can spread more easily.

American Universities Are Post-Truth* π«
The dishonesty at elite universities extends beyond their research output to how they describe their admissions processes. Like many universities, Harvard has long used race as a factor in college admissions, producing a class that is less Asian and more Black and Hispanic than it would be if it did not consider race.
