😢 Depression Isn’t Realism — It’s a Bias
Many people believe that those with depression simply “see the world as it is” — stripped of illusions, brutally honest, and grounded in reality. This idea is often called depressive realism. But modern research suggests something different.
Depression is not clarity. It’s a pessimistic bias.
When someone is depressed, their mind doesn’t just observe reality — it filters it. Negative events feel heavier, positive moments seem smaller, and neutral situations are often interpreted in the worst possible way. It’s not that the world is objectively darker; it’s that the brain is tuned to notice darkness more.
This bias affects memory too. A depressed person is more likely to recall failures than successes, criticism than praise. Over time, this creates a distorted internal narrative: “Nothing works out for me.” But that story is not reality — it’s a pattern shaped by the mind.
What makes this especially powerful is that it feels true. The thoughts are convincing, logical, even evidence-based. But they are built on selective attention, not full awareness.
Understanding this changes everything. It means that depression isn’t a deeper truth about life — it’s a lens. And like any lens, it can be adjusted.

🧠 The Emotional Pattern Behind Procrastination
Research in psychology shows that procrastination is less about laziness and more about emotion regulation.
When a task triggers feelings like stress, anxiety, or self-doubt, the brain looks for quick relief. Instead of starting the task, we switch to something easier—social media, chatting, or resting. This gives temporary comfort, but the task doesn’t disappear.
Over time, a cycle forms:
👉 Task creates discomfort
👉 You avoid it
👉 You feel short-term relief
👉 Guilt and pressure come back stronger
This is why many procrastinators actually care a lot—they just feel overwhelmed by the emotions linked to the task.
💡 Key insight:
To beat procrastination, focus on managing emotions, not just forcing discipline.
Start small, reduce pressure, and remember—progress matters more than perfection.

Rostini aytsam bu article ni juda intizorlik bilan kutdim qo’limga olganimda juda xursand bo’ldim. Birinchi varaqlashimdayoq dizayni, rasmlari va maqolalarning uslublari juda yoqib qoldi. Ichidagi article lar juda qiziqarli va o’qishga oson ekan. Eng yoqqan tomoni- ham qiziqarli ham foydali bo’lishi. To’g’risini aytsam yoshligimdan beri shunday dizaynli kitoblar izlab yurardim 365 articles haqida eshitib shu vaqtning o’zidayoq buyurtma berdim. Ingliz tilini yaxshi ko’rganim uchun bunday materiallar menga aynan mos.
Boshqalarga ham tavsiya qildim endi ular ham buyurtma qilishmoqchi, haqiqatdan ham tavsiya qilishga arziydigan kitob. Endi imkon topganim sari keyingi sonlarini ham olib boraman.
