KEY TIPS FOR MULTIPLCE CHOICEβοΈ
β¨ Read the questions first.
If you do this, youβll know what youβre looking for when you read the text which will save you loads of time.
β¨ The answers will be in order.
Itβs very helpful to know that the answers come in order in the text which isnβt the case with all question types. This makes it easier to find them. So, if youβve found answer 1 in paragraph 1 and answer 2 in paragraph 3, youβll know that answer 3 wonβt be too much further on in the text.
β¨ Read in detail.
For some question types, youβll be mostly skimming and scanning the text for the answers. Youβll need these skills here too but with multiple choice questions, the detail is important.
β¨ Watch out for distractors.
Be aware that the test setters love to include βdistractorsβ in the answer options to try and catch you out. A prime example is qualifying words such as every, all, most, a few. They are only small words but they can completely change the meaning of a sentence.
E.g. Everyone who ate the prawn sandwiches at the party was ill.
Most people who ate the prawn sandwiches at the party were ill.
β¨ Donβt leave any blank answers.
If you really canβt decide which answer is right, then guess. Thereβs at least a chance that youβll guess correctly and get the mark. If you donβt put an answer, the question will be marked βwrongβ by the examiner.

Carefully read the questions. Donβt worry if there are words you donβt understand. If they appear in the text, you may be able to work them out in context. Alternatively, synonyms that you do understand may have been used.
If unfamiliar words appear in incorrect answer options, they donβt matter so much, although youβll need to make an educated guess at them in order to eliminate the answer.
On this first reading of the text, you are aiming to get just the general meaning.
Return to the questions and underline key words in them. These will help you find the location of the correct answer in the text. Iβve underlined them in question 1 below as an example.
Your other task while looking at the answer options is to try and work out the difference in meaning between them. Two may be very similar. Donβt spend too much time on this but doing it will save you precious minutes in the next step.

Sleep Affirmations
We are used to the fact that repeating affirmations are a morning practice. However, bedtime affirmations are also very effective.
Your brain is just as active in the evening with hundreds of thoughts running through it. Negative attitudes slip through as well.
Let's try to analyze and transform them into positive ones.
For example: "I am sluggish, and I didn't manage to take my time again" ππ» "I am really good, I did a lot of pleasant things today".
Positive affirmations before going to sleep help calm down, refocus our energy and attention on the positive, review the day and keep our mind off mundane matters.

Do you know how our memory works?
The information we get last is remembered better. That's because of the small size of our short-term memory cells: as new blocks of information arrive, the old ones are forgotten.
Try to think back to a conversation you heard a few weeks ago - it's likely that only scraps of its end, dotted fragments of memories, remain in your memory.

What we focus on, we fill our lives with
Psychologists have long said that what we focus our attention on, tends to fill our lives. Therefore, it is very important to be aware of exactly where you are focusing your energy right now.
Here are a few tips to help you readjust yourself in the right way:
β«οΈ Accept the situation.
This does not mean that you have to encourage absolutely everything. However, you do need a concentrated awareness of what is going on.
β«οΈ Take care of yourself.
Take care of a wholesome, healthy diet, resting your body and mind. Pay attention to your inner state and its needs.
β«οΈ Take time for a hobby.
Relax and take time for creativity or a favorite hobby.
β«οΈ Support yourself.
Whatever moments in life, always remember that you are the most precious thing you have.
Say more kind words to yourself, express gratitude even for some little things, spoil and support yourself no matter what happens.

Why shouldn't we use the phone before going to bed? π²
Experts argue that the main reason why it's hard to fall asleep after using the phone is that you have no time to relax. Many people gamble right in bed, some read the news, others flip through their social media feeds. All of these activities may excite you both mentally and physically.
Curiously, many of these behaviors cause your body to produce cortisol, the stress hormone. Such as if you've read the disturbing news, or if an online game has a monster chasing you. Cortisol prevents you from falling asleep; on the contrary, it wakes you up, since you cannot sleep in conditions of "anxiety and danger"!
So now your body, instead of producing the hormone melatonin, which makes you sleepy, secretes cortisol.
