πŸ“΅ What Happens When You Quit Social Media for 8 Weeks?

What would happen if you stayed away from social media for eight weeks?

One writer decided to find out β€” and the results were surprisingly simple.

Without social media, he noticed that he started connecting with people more intentionally. Instead of casually interacting online, he called friends, had longer conversations, and became more present in real-life relationships.

Another change was how he experienced everyday moments. Without constantly thinking about posting or sharing something, he could simply enjoy the moment for what it was.

But perhaps the biggest difference was attention.

Reading, thinking, and focusing on one task became easier without the constant temptation to check a feed. His mind felt less distracted and more present.

Maybe we don’t always need to add something new to our lives.

Sometimes, we just need to remove what constantly steals our attention.

Less scrolling.
Less checking.
More living. πŸ§ πŸ“΅

When Too Much Comfort Holds Us Back

We often think that the best way to help someone who is struggling is to make them feel better immediately. But sometimes, too much comfort can send an unintended message: β€œYou can’t handle this without me.”

A Psychology Today article by Claire Lerner describes how constant reassurance and one-on-one attention can actually prevent children from adapting to unfamiliar situations.

The goal isn’t to ignore someone’s distress. It’s to support them without taking the struggle away from them.

Instead of saying, β€œDon’t worry, I won’t let anything happen,” a more empowering message is:

β€œI know this is difficult. And I know you can get through it.”

Because confidence doesn’t come from never struggling.

It comes from struggling, adapting, and discovering that you were capable all along.

When Trying Harder Stops Working

We often think that when something isn’t working, the solution is simple: try harder. Study more. Work longer. Push yourself further. But sometimes, more effort only keeps you stuck.

Psychologists describe something called the Einstellung effect β€” our tendency to keep using a familiar strategy even when a better solution is available.

That’s why you can spend hours trying to solve a problem and still make no progress, only to find the answer after taking a break or approaching it differently.

🧠 Sometimes your brain doesn’t need more pressure. It needs more space.

Take a walk. Sleep on the problem. Change your environment. Look at it from another perspective.

Because progress isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about doing things differently.

So the next time you feel stuck, ask yourself: β€œDo I need to try harderβ€”or try differently?”

Hello! First of all, the reason I'm writing this review is because this magazine is of very high quality, and the design and details inside are beautifully done. I also really like the variety of topics it covers, such as psychology, football, friendship, gratitude, and many others. Reading about these different topics is very interesting. My favorite part so far is the section about football, especially because it features my favorite football club, Manchester City. At the moment, I'm on page 20, and I'll definitely buy the upcoming issues in the next few months as well. I give this magazine 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
