π€ What can a Roman philosopher teach us about happiness?
Over 2,000 years ago, the Roman philosopher Cicero argued that a good life isnβt built on money, status, or pleasure alone. Instead, it comes from living with wisdom, justice, courage, and self-control. These virtues shape not only who we are, but also how we treat others.
Cicero also believed that people are naturally meant to live in communities, not in isolation. Helping others, building strong relationships, and contributing to society give life a deeper sense of purpose than chasing personal success alone.
His message is surprisingly relevant today. In a world that often measures success by achievements and possessions, Cicero reminds us that true happiness comes from living well, not just living comfortably.
π Great ideas donβt become oldβthey become timeless.

Are humans really born good or bad? π€
Most people believe human nature is fixed. Some say weβre naturally selfish, while others insist weβre born kind.
But psychology suggests something more interesting.
Human nature isnβt a rigid set of behaviors. Instead, itβs a collection of possibilities. We all have the capacity for kindness, cooperation, jealousy, aggression, empathy, and sacrifice. Which side appears depends heavily on our environment, experiences, and the situations we face.
Think about it. The same person can be incredibly generous with family, fiercely competitive at work, and surprisingly compassionate toward a stranger. Which one is the βrealβ version?
The answer is: all of them.
Rather than asking βWhat are humans really like?β, a better question is βUnder what conditions do people become their best selves?β
Understanding human nature isnβt about putting people into simple categories. Itβs about recognizing how flexible human behavior truly isβand why creating the right environment matters just as much as changing the individual.
Sometimes, changing the situation changes the person.
