Lotte Wubben-Moy is staying. The 26 years old Centre Back signs a new three-year deal with Arsenal WFC as per David Ornstein and Charlotte Harpur.

Wubben-Moy told Arsenal.com, "I feel a huge amount of pride, excitement and optimism to once again put pen to paper at this special football club. Arsenal is the club I want to win with and I feel this new contract comes at a time in my career where my ambitions are matched by my abilities on the pitch."

Head Coach Renée Slegers added: "We’re so happy that Lotte has signed a new contract. Lotte is a top defender who has shown significant progression in recent years, and will continue to play an important role as we pursue our shared goal of competing for the highest honours in the game."

Andrea Berta is leading a major change in how Arsenal approach the market. Now, the focus is firmly on bringing in players who can make an immediate impact.

Sources say Berta was clear from day one: Arsenal need to win now. That means competing for the Premier League and pushing deep into the Champions League. To do that, he believes the club must shift away from signing younger players and instead focus on players who are already operating at the highest level.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is one player who appears to have been affected by this new approach. While still admired internally, the 20-year-old is no longer seen as a top priority under Berta’s direction.

Instead, the focus has moved firmly to players like Watkins. In those early planning meetings, Arteta also floated the idea of Alvaro Morata, but Berta dismissed it - insisting Watkins was the better fit. That led to a concrete approach for the England international during the January window.

Luis Enrique downplays Arsenal's threats in Liverpool comparison ahead of European clash

PSG manager Luis Enrique when asked how his team will prepare to take on Arsenal: “We will prepare in the same way as we did against Liverpool." he asserted, addressing concerns about Arsenal's set-piece capabilities.

He elaborated on the comparison, suggesting Liverpool might even surpass Arsenal in that department, and noted that Aston Villa and many Ligue 1 teams also possess considerable deadball expertise.

Enrique emphasised that while they won't tailor their preparations to focus solely on this aspect, being competitive across all facets of the game is essential.

Liverpool are a team that has at least as much potential as Arsenal, if not more.

“Aston Villa also had great potential in this area, as do the majority of Ligue 1 teams. We will not prepare our team based on this aspect of the game in particular. But it is obvious that we must be competitive everywhere.”

What is the main reason for Arsenal falling short of their title ambitions?
Tonight was Arsenal's ninth Premier League draw in a match they were leading in this season, two more than any other side.

It's the most by a team in a season since Tottenham in 2007-08 (also nine).

"It's part of football, and it cost us two points."

Mikel Arteta vents his frustration over Arsenal's performance in the title race
Ben White and Mikel Merino are doubts for the first leg of Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The pair both missed Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday and were left out of the squad entirely.

Arteta confirmed before the game at Emirates Stadium that Merino and White were not fit to feature after picking up issues in the wake of Sunday’s win at Ipswich.

“They couldn’t be involved - if not they would have been,” said Arteta. “Unfortunately, after the game [against Ipswich] we had some issues and they are not fit.”

Asked after the draw with Palace if the pair would be fit to face PSG next week, Arteta said: “We’ll have to wait and see, they weren’t able to be in the squad today.”

Arsenal want to keep Thomas Partey at the club beyond his existing contract and are in talks with the midfielder about a new deal.

The 31-year-old’s terms expire this summer and that would enable him to leave as a free agent.

It long appeared that Partey was set to exit, but a return to prominence in Mikel Arteta’s side has left the manager and club keen to extend his stay.

The Ghana international is happy at Arsenal and his family are enjoying living in London.

He would be open to an improved two-year agreement or a one-year deal plus an option to extend by a further 12 months.

Partey will also consider alternative option in case a deal cannot be struck for him to stay.

Having joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, Partey has played an important role in the club’s progress — despite a number of spells out through injury.

He will miss the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain next week but should return for the reverse fixture on May 7.
