It was a pleasure to represent IncentiVerse in the Encode x Polkadot 2023 accelerator program. As an early-stage project, the accelerator provided valuable insights and resources that helped us scale our vision for a successful launch.

For those who may be unfamiliar with IncentiVerse: It's a future parachain on Polkadot, specifically designed for incentivized projects. IncentiVerse is unique by niching on enterprise incentives and combining experience, education and marketing into a web3 protocol. This niche is wide enough to ensure scalability, but also narrow enough to really address the needs of stakeholders into the protocol and governance. Proper niching is key to the success of any parachain.

One of the standout aspects of Encode's accelerator program was their understanding of web3 business models. This is crucial for IncentiVerse, as we will be dealing with blockchain economics and tokenomics as a parachain. This unique dynamic requires specialized market models that take into account the decentralized and tokenized nature of web3 projects.

Overall, we are grateful for the opportunity to work with Encode and the Polkadot community, and we look forward to continuing our mission of providing a comprehensive parachain ecosystem for incentivized projects. However... Our journey at Encode isn't over yet. IncentiVerse will be participating in the upcoming Polkadot Hackathon!

One thing that I find interesting about blockchain is the existence of so-called “maximalists”, especially because I have a very technology-agnostic approach.

My journey into blockchain began with #Hyperledger, which is an enterprise-grade blockchain that doesn’t even use cryptocurrencies. My first development certification was for Hyperledger #Fabric, later followed by #Sawtooth, #Indy + #Aries (SSI), and #Besu. Also, I have been a code contributor and I started the first Hyperledger meetups in Bulgaria, where I lived back then.

The first crypto-based blockchain I worked with was #Aeternity. Also here I have been relatively active in the community. For this network, I created the initial NFT standard.

Later followed #Tezos; I had the honor of being selected for B9lab’s Tezos Blockstars program from which I also graduated. One of the most interesting projects that I developed on Tezos was a prototype of a system that combats fraud with odometers.

Via Trrue, I got to know about #Algorand. On behalf of Trrue, I developed an MVP for #crowdfunding that used Algorand as its blockchain for #RWA tokenization. And I’ll be honest, I have mixed feelings about Algorand. I like their technology, but I absolutely hate the Algorand Foundation. From that perspective, I’m very excited about #VOI as an alternative.

Lately, I’m mostly active developing on #Substrate, which is the #Polkadot development framework. In 2023, I also became an alumnus of the #PolkadotBlockchainAcademy. At the moment, I’m almost done with an MVP for Incentiverse, a future Polkadot parachain for incentivized enterprise initiatives.

In case you’re wondering why so many prototypes and MVPs: It’s not by choice, but by fate. I really enjoy architecting and developing projects completely from scratch. Iterate over MVPs until it becomes a market-ready product. I simply love such journeys.

Ironically, I never liked #Ethereum, and there hasn’t been a single use case for which I concluded that it has to be deployed on Ethereum. Due to extreme gas fees and network congestions, I simply can’t consider Ethereum a serious option for enterprise-oriented use cases.

Why so many different technologies, you might ask? Well, technology is a tool. And different use cases require different tools. For this reason, I don’t believe in “maximization” but in different blockchain ecosystems that interact with each other.

Selecting the right technology stack: A journey from MVP to production.

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of @trrueio I'm responsible for selecting the technology stack for the company. This might sound trivial, but it requires careful thought and preparation. Choosing the right technology stack is crucial for the success of any business.

A technology stack is a set of programming languages, tools, and frameworks that work together to build and deploy a software application. In this article, I will share the considerations we made and why we decided to go with Rust, React Native, Polkadot/Substrate and a bit of Python.

Choices are always influenced by personal preference and experience. I'm no exception to that. Of course, having a lot of experience in a particular programming language helps to get faster results, but it's not always the best choice overall.
