Don Frye visiting Yoshihiro Takayama after he was paralyzed almost 15 years after their legendary fight.
“Takayama-san God gave me the greatest opponent anybody could ever ask for. You made the greatest fight the world has ever seen. You are the reason that our fight beat the world cup of soccer head to head on tv. You are the image of bushido and strength and triumph. You are the first person everyone asks about when they meet me. You are the warrior we all want to be. Takayama-san if you are done with this life and this adventure and wish to move on good luck. We are not ready to lose you and let you go therefore we will always remember you. But if you must go sir, god speed.” - Don Frye
Takayama got paralyzed after he attempted a sunset flip maneuver but landed awkwardly on his head. This resulted in a severe cervical spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.

Over 200,000 people gathered in rome to pay their final respects to pope francis today.
At the time of his passing, pope francis’s personal fortune was reported to be just $100 — less than 90 euros. Although he was entitled to an annual salary of around 340,000 euros as pope, he refused to take any of it due to his lifelong vow of poverty.

Chernobyl disaster occurred 38 years ago today.
Pic 1 is the first image captured of Chernobyl, taken 14 hours after the explosion on April 26, 1986.
The photo was snapped from a helicopter assessing radiation levels over the disaster area. The image is grainy due to the intense radiation in the air, which began damaging the camera film as soon as it was exposed.
Fifth photo is called the elephants foot which is a large mass of highly radioactive material formed during the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. It is a mixture of nuclear fuel, concrete, sand, and core shielding that melted and flowed together after the explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
