Kawah ljen, located in East Java, Indonesia, is home to one of the world's rarest natural phenomena: electric-blue flames that illuminate the volcano at night. This occurs when sulfuric gases escaping from deep within the volcano ignite upon contact with oxygen, burning at temperatures exceeding 600°C (1,112°F).
The volcano also contains the world's largest highly acidic crater lake, its striking turquoise color created by dissolved minerals and volcanic compounds. For generations, local miners have manually extracted sulfur from the crater, carrying loads that often exceed their own body weight.

The Cathedral of Light (Lichtdom) was one of the most iconic visual elements of the Nazi Party rallies held in Nuremberg between 1934 and 1938. Created by architect Albert Speer, it used 152 anti-aircraft searchlights placed 12 metres apart and directed into the sky, forming towering columns of light that enclosed the rally grounds and audience.

The White-tufted Grebe's eyes are deep red and marbled with black, a detail these images bring out clearly.
While diving after fish and invertebrates, grebes can partially close their nostrils to keep water out, letting them hunt fully submerged.

In 1989, legendary Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki personally organized a wrestling event in Iraq to entice Saddam to free 41 captive Japanese nationals, which somehow actually WORKED, leading to 36 of the Japanese nationals being freed.
Whilst on this trip, he converted to Shia Islam during a pilgrimage to Karbala, the Shiite holy city in Iraq, and subsequently undertook the new name Muhammad Hussain Inoki.
He was Japanese but spent much of his youth growing up in Brazil, was heavily involved in Japanese politics as an older man, opened a wrestling themed restaurant in Shinjuku and once spent the entirety of a fight with Muhammad Ali on the floor, where he simply kicked at Ali so that he was unable to get too close.
Ali only landed two punches across the entirety of the fight and people were not happy. To be fair to Inoki, he only did this because at the last minute he was disallowed to wrestle during the match and so was arguably left with little other choice.
