What I think the Indian retaliation will be?
Let's go over the facts first MAJOR attack on civilians by Pak backed terrorists after 26/11, no doubt India will have already located and tracked communications of the Terrorist handlers.
In my view the Retaliation will include both a ground & air (Aircraft/Missile) manuver it is very likely limited ground offensive against terror outposts in the POK will take place simultaneously we could see semi-military sites in Pakistan targeted by Air.
The Modi government has already gotten the Green light from the US...also to India's luck it's got US B-2 Spirit Bombers deployed in Diego García to deter any further escalation which could speard to China, so it's very likely that India will use the opportunity to make a statement & establish Status Quo.
Will Pakistan counter Retaliate will be interesting because they would also need backing and approval and China is to busy with Taiwan currently for it to see to two neighbors have it out and then just sit out...

Let me also make this clear US wants India to retaliate - because US will see this as a test for India & if the US can rely on India as a "strategic ally" against China.
Basically US will be looking at the proficiency of the strikes conducted by India...
